If you have access to British Gas Rewards, they are currently offering this without the hub, but including a free Echo Dot 3rd Gen for £100, or with a hub for £125 with British Gas doing the install.

Excellent deal!! With cashback only working out as £159 INSTALLED! Thanks, just ordered!
I will wait for BF before jumping.
Or should I?
Does anyone know what happens if they come and aren’t able to install the hive?
Anyone know how much it would usually cost to get this installed ?

This deal is for the active heating thermostat and the hub. The item you are looking at is to control another zone. For the multizone thermostat to work, you first need to install the active heating thermostat and the hub.
Are u sure leesas39? The way I read it it’s to install the hive heating

I paid a local plumber to fit the receiver £60 the rest you can do yourself real easy, the hub you just plug in to the internet and the thermostat you just put the batteries in

This is just another thermostat you only need more then 1 if you live in a mansion/castle
I will just add that this is one of the best things I've brought for my house especially if you like to have full control of your heating 😁
Not be facetious but why would anyone get this over a Nest? Surely the nest has better functionality? Happy to be given reasons to change my view

Errrr... Cost around £220 + yet does the same thing so why pay more? 😁
No £20 cashback on site
We gonna see that offer for smart heating and echo dot this year?
These usually go down to about £140 on BF, don’t they? I’ve held off for a few years, but may actually pull the trigger this year.

Nest control is wired isn't it? Hive thermostat is wireless, other than that they're basically the same thing, that extra flexibility is basically what puts it in front for me
Says OOS for now but more expected.
Got this for £135 a few months back. Amazon had it for this price with installation and AO price matched for me, so good chance that Amazon May repeat this deal on BF.
This gets cheaper on amazon all year around. If you know little bit of diy it’s actually very easy to install. Did ours in few minutes. Very pleased since installing.
I've bitten and bought it, yes it might go a bit cheaper on prime day but there'll be a massive back log for Installation, whereas this will be installed before black Friday

I was looking at this - are we sure the £125 includes installation?
Hive, nest or tado?

Yup. T&C's say professional installation included. If you've had rewards for a while, you might already have got a free hub from a couple of years ago which also saves a bit more.

I'm guessing this part has ended as I didn't get it, got an email saying I'll get a £20 if I refer a friend who then buys but that's it, no smart home cash back

Yes! I found it :).

Quick question, I have a thermostat both upstairs and downstairs in the house, does mean I would need two hubs?

Don't actually have Hive heating myself (still got an antique boiler), just some Hive bulbs and plugs. But no, I don't think you need more than one hub.

The Hive is your control box for Hive - it connects your devices to your online Hive account, and also seems to store local configs, so if you lose your internet connection, the lights etc will still come on at their defined times.

Lol cmon let's be honest it takes more then a few minutes just to get that damn cover of the boiler let alone wireing the receiver in!

Thanks. I'm not fused for lights etc (at the moment at least) but if my upstairs is controlled by another thermostat, wouldn't I need to replace that one as well?

I'm very confused by it all haha

You asked about the hub. The hub is the device that allows all the Hive kit to talk to each other. You'll need to ask someone with experience of Hive heating for a better answer about thermostats.

It’s best you make sure to get the professional installation. As long as your existing installation done within the industry standards you should be able to remove existing controller and plug this one in to the existing socket less than 5 minutes if you are competent. It basically is plug and play well at least for my case !

I sounds like you have a 2 zone system I.e. upstairs zone 1 and downstairs zone 2, so you can have 2 different temperatures or heating on upstairs but not downstairs, so if you purchase the hive multi-zone thermostat then the one unit would replace both, but if you buy this advertised one you would need to buy a second unit to replace your second thermostat. Hope that helps

edit:
also just noticed that the advertised unit is for combi boilers so if you have a hot water tank you would need a different unit from this one.
