Correct...Head Office in Windsor and tax paid in the UK. Can't be said for Google/Alphabet
I have a worcester bosch combi boiler but don't have a thermostat. If I get the hive installation deal will it cost me extra because I don't currently have a thermostat and will the engineer need to start hacking at the plaster to wire up the new one?

No. It'll cost the same and the thermostat is wireless.

I fit my own a few weeks back.

Basically the only wiring required is into the boiler itself, which is accessed by dropping the front off. This is the receiver which can be located near to the boiler itself so there's no hacking out plaster and a very tidy result can be achieved.

The next bit is the 'hub' which needs to be connected via ethernet cable to either your router, homeplug or switch. This has its own USB charger (with supplied USB plug).

The final part is the Thermostat/programmer. This is battery powered and, within reason, can be located anywhere.

The commissioning process tells you if all components are within range and are able to communicate with each other

Once fitted theres a very good web-based programming portal for setting up your schedules which is far easier than trying to achieve the same result through the programmer.

Hope this helps.
Sadly the camera is not on sale - I'm waiting for it to be reduced.

Yeah, I also fitted mine myself end of July, to my Worcester boiler with no thermostat. I disconnected the pin wheel timer, but others have left it connected, but switched to on.

Don't know if these will help?

I'm an idiot because I prefer the design of the Nest over Hive?
Or because don't chose my purchases solely based on geographical point of manufacture?

Go away, you silly troll.

No because you post like an idiot. It's simple.

What does "NEST! NEST! NEST! NEST!" add to a hive post.

Only an idiot would think it adds anything, but hey I know we've established you are, so lets explain it.

1/ This is a hive post, most people looking here are looking for hive, not next.
2/ This is hotdeals uk, so most people here will be UK based, not american.
3/ The nest used to be the only game in town, however it was equaled and surpassed some time ago by the hive gear.
4/ You're going to say, that's my opinion, yes, but not just mine most of the reviews show the same

trustedreviews.com/opi…071

Major downside to the nest? Price.

Nest -3rd generation Nest Learning Thermostat £279ncluding VAT
Hive in this deal? £149 and again the same regularly on Amazon. So good luck, only an idiot would pay £120 more on looks alone, for a thermostat..but then again, they do say and idiot and their money are easily parted and you're the proof of that.

Major downside to the hive, integration - which now it's open and works with Alexa isn't really the case any more, but was true at the time.

Big plus is that a dot is much cheaper than a google home to make hive integrated.

So lets go back to your final point, you're an idiot because you choose something over how it looks, rather than what is the best, you then post ""NEST! NEST! NEST! NEST!" rather than add to the discussion with your shallow view.

Please don't buy the hive that's a deal on hotukdeals at the moment, because You and to be fair, probably only you prefer the look of the nest thermostat over the hive to the extent you're prepared to pay more for it.

Troll, nope.
Prepared to keep showing you up as an idiot..absolutely...

I din't read your lengthy explanation of why you think 'm an idiot.

Basically anyone who responds (unprovoked) as aggressively as you have to a light hearted post is a troll.

You think you're contributing to the site with your comments? You haven't submitted a deal in over 2 YEARS.

You called me an idiot, and also you've asked me if I'm "Donald Trump, as that's the only reason anyone would prefer an American product over a British one" (mmmm, that adds LOADS to the discussion, especially since Hive was created by a Swiss in California.)

You're a silly troll, I'm blocking you and won't respond to any more of your nonsense.

Have fun trolling everyone's comments if you don't like them.
