It says without HUB?
Edited by: "MarkyCoops91" 6th Jan
Link shows no hub inc?
No hub with this one?
Link takes you to the hive without the hub. The hub is not in the picture either.
Bought this a week ago. Still haven't received it but there's definitely no hub
In laws have a first generation Hive. Is it a fairly simple system to upgrade with this model?
No hub and no receiver - so not really a deal . Will only be of use to someone who wishes to set up an additional "zone " on an existing "Hive " set up . Think the OP should have clarified this point on posting ? Else folks may think they are get the full Hive set up . I realise I am giving info to fresh air - as those who vote hot never bother reading the comments .
When you scroll down the page it says what’s included in the package and the hub is pictured so maybe op noticed that
No hub.. Expire or change title..
Just to clarify - link leads to Hive thermostat -WITHOUT HUB ! - I do wish OPs would check their facts Yet again a reason the "hot voting " sheep should read informed comments before voting . Such voting could well mislead other HUKD sheep

Does have receiver. Even the multi zone has a receiver. Each zone needs its own receiver.

Voted hot because £79 is a good deal if you already have a hub, which I assume alot of hukders already have considering the heat received for the 2 BG giveaways over the last 2 years. The hive lights and the hive plug. And it comes with a 3rd gen echo dot!

Not maybe?? , I really don't know which part you can't read it clearly says thermostat and receiver. Some people already have the hub to control other hive devices so it's hot deal people who want to add hive heating to their system.

I agree I've just ordered, I will receive a thermostat and receiver and an echo dot (will come later) for 79.20. As a British Gas customer I already have the hub. I asked the chap on the phone if there are any new models coming out and he said no new hardware expected anytime soon.
The only reason I'm purchasing is that my existing unit is difficult to understand and the Mrs complains it's too hot too early so she can turn it off when in bed!
Anything for an easy life
If you already have the hub like I got with my lights it is fine.

Didn’t you get the plug this Christmas?

I have the "Hive " set up (£104.99 self install from the BF deals with "free" echo dot ) . To be fair it was simple to self install and is brilliant . My problem is that OPs do not understand what is required (despite numerous edits ) to have a working system and post misleading info willy nilly . I just hope none of the hot voting sheep have purchased this with the expectation of a working system ?

Incidentally I view the prices of the Hive "add ons " exactly as I view the "Hue " stuff - Way overpriced ! Do your research and you can get your switches ,sensors , bulbs etc way cheaper (typically a third Hue/Hive prices ) by just checking on Amazon .

Good comments- I tried looking for a cheaper thermostat, however they were selling around £50 but then it was hard to find stat and receiver together, with the echo dot thrown in free I think it's reasonably priced to purchase direct from the supplier
So many people moaning that it's not a deal and that it's misleading because there's no hub. Someone says that anyone viting hot needs to 'research'. This is is the multizone thermostat. It doesn't come with a hub. Never has, because it's supposed to be a second thermostat in homes with multizone heating. And it usually costs more than this. It doesn't usually come with an Echo Dot. So this is a deal.

Not strictly true; apparently TRVs are on the way.
This is a great deal for existing Hive users who already have the hub. As I have boiler cover with British Gas I got a hub and various accessories free over the last few years. I bought the Hive heating with another hub on another HUKD Amazon deal and fitted it myself. I like the way you can set it up to pop up a message on your phone if the house temperature at home goes above or below temperatures you set. Also you can have the heating come on when you are coming home and are within a mileage you set of your home.

I suppose on current pricing this does seem a decent deal ,especially for those who already have the Hive Hub . Just a shame the OP couldn't explain it better (and indeed the original post was utterly wrong and misleading ) . To me the price for a complete Hive system will always be £104.99 (with "free" echo dot ) and the price of an echo dot will be £24.99 . OK we haven't got time machines but I cannot see a month going by without seeing those prices again ( and they certainly wont get dearer ) .

The much edited Original post still is wildly misleading "The Thermostat goes for £130 by itself " simply not true and grossly misleading . I just try to correctly inform members - but sadly "you can lead a horse/sheep to water but you can't make it drink "

Agreed , but after much editing the post still says the thermostat alone costs over £130 - obviously untrue ! This is the "multizone " add on which with the free echo dot is just about a deal . So why has the OP not explained that even after numerous edits ? I don't like fellow members being misled (maybe even the OP). So hopefully those few members who read the comments will understand what they are ordering and what else they need .

Where did you see that
I have Hive bulbs and the hub that came with them.
Do I need anything else if I buy this? Is the light hub different to the central heating one?

If you have the latest Hive Hub "Nano 2 Hub V2 " (on the bottom of the Hub) it will work . Assuming this comes with the Receiver as well as the thermostat .
Does this work on a non combi boiler?

They sent out marketing research surveys a while ago to existing customers and then on New Years Eve posted on a TRV feature thread on on the Hive forum that they were hoping to have them out in the first half of the year.

You dont have to have a hub for this to work, period, you only need hub to control from your phone app, and thats if you have router and internet.

But read above, you dont need a hub if you dont want, works just fine without it.
You do if you need/want remote control from the app
