It's an fg15 2013, so that would suggest any stock would only be one year old.

Rule of thumb is change every three years of use, surely... this is a brand new helmet.

Wow Jimjimeroo. everything you have said is flawed... good price for a decent helmet.

On the 5 year thing I bought a Shoei Xceed about ten years ago and it had a manufacture date inside... it was about 2 years old at that point. After a few months I had a few problems with the lining coming away. Shoe I asked me to send some pictures and then took it back, fitted a new lining and sent it back. I asked about the 5 thing and they said it was a rule of thumb but was dependent on the materials used but 5 years was typical for a polycarbonate helmet. The 5 years should start once the helmet is taken out of the box and used on a regular basis. This would also apply to helmets that are display models and sitting on shelves. It seems to be the combination of heat/light/sweat that ages shell.

Heat given. Cheers.

Good price for this helmet, heat added!

Says who and why?

Plastics and the like degrade with exposure to UV, and knocks then further reduce the effectiveness of the safety equipment.

So yes, for in use helmets, it's normally every 3 years.

However if you wear a helmet once, and put it back in it's protective sleeve, and then back into a cardboard box, it's fine.

Wear it everyday, different story.

Plus it's bear in mind, in bare, which is to uncover, or be naked...

Piffle, ARAI stopped putting dates on the straps as it is irrelevant when it was manufactured with modern materials. Good deal for a decent helmet.

Thought this was a new Daft Punk album for a second there...

my mistake, missed the 2013, although I would be apprehensive buying an old stock helmet. I Have had an HJC Carbon helmet it was great, only negative was the lacquer lifting from stone chips. was told to use clear nail polish... I now have the RPHA 10+ managed to get one from ghost bikes last month for £265!

Great deal and find, heat..
On the shelve/use life issue, common sense prevails one would hope, we all should know when a lids due a change
on our own use of our own lid..

Can you imagine how much this is going to be thrown around in the post. A couple of years in the box on a warehouse shelf is the least of your worries.

Includes free extra smoke visor worth £44.99

Will that be drop down smoke visor or you have to replace the clear one?

no it's a separate light tint full visor, presumably also with pinlock

I managed to pick up a RPHA 10+ black and white Zappy for £169.99 from Lids Direct which I thought was unbeatable... until I searched and a month or two ago it was £139.99.... now that is an amazing price!!

received my RHPA 10 PLUS.... great lid!! anyway it was surrounded by 3 layers of cardboard, each with a fair bit of space around the other. it's unlikely in my opinion that the helmet would be damaged transit

Sorry my reply yesterday isn't clear (I was using my phone)... what do you need to know... if you are looking for suggestions on the best Scooter to get then I'm not really the best to advise. There's bound to be plenty of information on the internet though.
