Redmi Note 4X compared to the Redmi Note 4 Global Version that is usually posted:

- The 4/64GB RN4X is Mediatek whereas the RN4 GV is Snapdragon (The Mediatek RN4 has a GSMArena battery endurance rating of 89h. The Snapdragon RN4 has a rating of 119h)
- This has no B20. RN4 GV does
- This will be unsealed because Global ROM is seller installed. RN4 GV will be sealed with Global ROM factory pre-installed.

Yeah the Snapdragon version gets updates quicker ...... Still a great phone for the money!
I own a MediaTek version of one of the older Note phones; good phone, but yes, treated like the unwanted son when it came to updates; sometimes it would lag nearly a whole year behind the main family for a major update. Some phones were getting MIUI8 before it got MIUI7 for example, and it only got MIUI8 a couple of weeks ago - with MIUI9 already being pushed out to many other models.

The same seems to be happening to my newer Note 3SE, the standard Note 3 has had the MIUI update, I havent.
The Mediatek version isn't as bad as people make out. I had it for a couple of months. For me it performs better than the Snapdragon version and battery life is still very good.

Gets a decent write up here.

As for band 20, not a huge issue unless you happen to be unfortunate enough to be on O2 (you have my sympathies)
I've had loads of import phones, with and without band 20, and I don't really notice.

I've currently got a Mi 6 without band 20 and it's awesome but the Mediatek Note 4 was still excellent.

I had this phone on o2 and I can 100% confirm it ran as fast as 3G for the simple reason 4G coverage on o2 is not great.

Unfortunately I have had 2 of them die on me and dont rate the quality of this specific Xiaomi phone

Both died in a similar fashion, changed batteries, changed power ribbon then finally found the poeer IC chip was at fault on both

Unfortunately I couldnt find a replacement chip

Love xiaomi but this one product I hate some crappy luck

Haha Mediatek junk. No updates, stuck on Android 6, no Band 20, half the battery life of the snapdragon version. Sure it is slightly more powerful, for about 30 seconds until it has the well documented overheating and actually runs slower.

You have to be mental to buy this, especially when it's the same price/more than the SD version.
