Was about to buy the normal hobgoblin mini keg as a present for someone when I saw the gold version reduced from £15 to £8. Works out at £1.60 a litre which is pretty cheap. Still showing as £15 online, found in Leyland. Still a few on shelf

Heat for the price, but it's really disappointing compared to standard hobgoblin.
Keg can be refilled with homebrew as well.. the empty kegs are usually £7 from the homebrew shops.

Standard Hobgoblin off trade sales are down 20% this year, but introducing Gold has raised the brand by 30% overall, so I guess not everyone agrees ;-)

    How exact please?

Ive had loads of bath ales kegs and I'm sure these are the same. Can't remove the bung at the top without bending the lid

Don't know why, it's quite nasty compared to something like Golden Hen. Has a pretty bottle though! *shrugs*

What's the "use by" on these? Seem to think they have a shorter shelf life and wondering about getting a few for Christmas

Due in part to myself, a lovely hoppy summer EPA!

Generally prefer my darker brews but have to admit was pleasantly surprised by this one.
This is really nice for American style IPA lovers. Great value!
Love the grapefruity flavour, also tastes great chilled. Hope I can get this deal tomorrow

Two completely different beers. It's like comparing diet coke to dr pepper, ultimately pointless.

It's a decent summery light ale.

    Hoted vot.
I quite like this but not seen it in my local superstore.

Either remove bung per videos on you tube.
Or get some of these which can be reused.

They're both golden ales, one is nice one isn't. It was disappointing for a Wychwood beer, it's my opinion. Still voted hot for the price.

Edit: oh right you mean comparing the standard to the gold. Meh, the Wychwood point still stands.

Are you saying you don't need to remove the bung on these? I found trying to remove the bung quite tricky but I love the idea of using kegs to store beer.
Still scanning at £15 in Newcastle Extra. Cold.

    Best before.

Arbitrary date picked out of a hat by the manufacturer.
If anyone has any beer that has passed its "use by" please message me for disposal.

That's just personal taste and choice.I love it,it has a good old fashioned beer taste and at 4.5% just right for a bitter.

There are no bad beers, just some are better than others
