cheers for that.

booked 2 nights for the ice hockey play off finals - £85!

Where is the free night quoted? No mention of free night or bubbly when you follow the link.

The OP posted various offers all in one -
To get the free night you need to join ( it's free ) their Priority Club. Then by staying two nights at any hotel within the brand ( holiday inn / holiday inn express /crowne plaza ) between now and the April 30th, they will credit your membership card with 25000 points after June 15th.
You can then use those 25000 points for a free night anywhere in the world.
You must register for the offer - so join Priority Club, then register for the offer.
Here is the free night and other offers that were bundled together by the OP

Just make sure you have booked the express and not the Holiday Inn as it is quite a trek from the centre

I have checked the details on the extra night offer and my interpretation is that you need to make two separate stays - regardless of length in order to qualify. One stay fr two nights will not be sufficient.

@dashforth
yes you are correct. In their T&C's it states " A stay is defined as one night or consecutive nights at the same hotel, regardless of frequency of check-in/out. " so it seems you need 2 stays to a get a free night, and as consecutive nights are classed as one stay, you do need two seperate stays
It also states "A stay is qualified when paying most qualifying rates, which include most business and leisure rates "
I do wonder though if your two stays need to be at the same hotel? reading above can imply that. And, I do wonder what " most leisure" rates are because what if you took up their £39 ( at Express ) or £44 ( at Holiday Inn ) offer - that shows as a Promotional Leisure Offer - so is that included in their " most leisure rates"?

They ran this promotion last year, and I got my points earned toppedup to 25000, which gives a free night,

If you stayed and earned, say 24,999 points anyway, they only give you an amazing 1 point bonus, as this is merely a top-up to 25,000 points, not an additional free night, on top of all other points earned, You also typically have to wait a couple of months to get your points topped-up, so you couldn't do 2 different stays, then go back a few days later and claim a free night, using the 25,000 points, as you won't have them for quite some time, so this is a heads-up.

So - regular stayers, you may get little or no points out of this 25,000 points offer, as once you earn over 25000 during his period, you are then due NO points from it.

Stays can be at any hotel location, doesn't have to be the same place. Be sure that the rate that you book your room at qualifies for points, otherwise you will again get nothing. Typically rooms booked through agencies such as hotels.com, expedia etc will not qualify for any points at all, you need to book at the correct rate, preferably direct with holiday inn group.

The priorty club staff are not always that helpful at resolving queries, and the terms of their offers are constrained, confusing and hard to understand, thus it's really worthwhile knowing what you're getting yourself into.

Hope this helps!

What a crock of ****

We have stayed at the Ellesmere Port holiday Inn many many times in the last 3 years since the birth of our daughter

We have ALWAYS had a room with 2 double beds

Tried booking today for April and it is saying that 2 Adults and 1 Child exceeds their maximum room occupancy!!!!!

Number 6 in the terms & conditions says has to be booked by the 31st March-i think that is what the problem is for you in getting the 2 for 1 offer.
