Still a rip off price.
I imagine it's only a matter of time before we lose H&B down the High Street plughole, especially when more people realise that you can buy the same stuff for a fraction of the price elsewhere, and that most of their products don't actually do anything anyway (unless you believe the clever marketing).

Yes... I feel they need to do a credit check on you to see if you can afford their honey!
Crazy prices...just crazy.

I know honey is a premium product, but it surely can't cost that amount.
After seeing the poster in the window I looked in my local store the other day but was disappointed to see not as much was included as normal, usually most of the shop is included.

Like where all that H&B stuff cheaper ?
There is always a sale on here. Literally a week ago it was a half price sale. Basically if you want anything from there and it's full price, wait a couple of weeks and there's a good chance it'll be in the next sale.

I say that as someone who buys from them - I just stock up at the right time. Which for some things, is right now.

These deals always remind me of pizza land deals, shame they got bought out!

Have nothing of relivance to say mind...
Are Fry's products included or is it just muscle power and nonsense as per?

I live in a fairly small town, and the majority of the time when I have popped in I have been the only customer in there,it's not a surprise that they can offer the second item for a penny, when you look at the price for the full price item,WH smiths are the same, you would have to be daft to pay their prices on the high st
Would someone be willing to buy one and let me buy another for a penny
I've always been a bit sceptical of the benefits of this sort of stuff. Nothing a balanced healthy diet and good sleep can't help with most of the time

For the most part, this is true, but people who have conditions like colitis or crohns benefit from things like psyllium husks. It was my consultant who told me to try them and they quite honestly changed my life for the better.

I'm sure there is other supplements for people with a variety of issues that are equally effective. Perhaps you're having trouble getting enough Iron in your diet. Maybe you get seasick and want to try a more natural anti-nausea medicine. (ginger)

That sums up Holland & Barrett
Basically bogof.
Another H&B deal, another stream of inane "Still too expensive!!!", "Holland & Barrett's half price is everyone else's normal price hahaha!!" comments.

The frozen stuff? Highly doubt it, their food isn't often on sale. Best time I've found to get their freezer stuff is Buy One Get One Half Price storewide sales they have. Their chick'n nuggets are excellent!

A rip off price for what, exactly? Plenty of good deals in here, depending on what you're after.
I swear they totally inflated all their prices this time round before penny sale.. vitamins at like 40 quid were never that price before
every piece of scientific research on supplements has concluded that they do not offer any substantial benefits over a healthy balanced diet, save your money for good food
Too expensive, close the stores and keep the online web store going WITH COMPETITIVE PRICES. If they dont, they will be gone...

That may be true, but some people use Holland and Barrett for things like Peanut butter or protein powder or herbal tea or organic shampoo, stuff that isn't necessarily a supplement.
Holland and Barrett are the DFS of the 'Health Food' and Supplements market. Always some kind of sale going on. Does anybody really think that their 'normal' prices are real? They are a business, they can't afford to give stuff away so must still be making a profit on these 'sale deals'. All it proves is that their prices are artificially inflated in the first place.

Companies that treat customers as idiots like this deserve to go out of business. Just look at how the likes of Tesco have been overtaken by Aldi and Lidil. People don't fall for the fake offers at Tesco, they prefer the constant lower prices from the others. You may laugh when Aldi have an item on sale and it is only reduced from 99p to 79p instead of the ridiculous buy one get one free offers from the likes of Tesco. But what this shows is they are not profiteering in the first place so can't make huge reductions and still make a profit.
I love being a h&b sales associate and reading these comments the things people presume and the things in the media people believe is hilarious

Yes it is called the placebo effect and it is very powerful.

I would argue doctors/medicine have been ingrained in us as a 'go to' for all ailments when there are natural equivalent remedies, with minimal to no site effects.

The placebo effect can be seen on a lot of common everyday medicines we are given or take believing they are helping us in some way.

Hardly my customers when they don’t even shop there it’s like I love those people who wonder in and talk loudly about the “extortionate prices”, so why are you there then?. Why say things are “rip off” prices when most of the products have their own reasoning behind their expense or even better - they sometimes aren’t even our own brands that people complain about which we sell for retail price! People never tend to look into the actual ingredients labelled right at the bottom of products. They see “multivitamins” and think “oh it’s the same in Poundland as in Holland and Barrett” when in reality we offer a range of supplements to suit different people. FOR EXAMPLE- a lot of our multivitamins include amino acids, Rutin, grape seed, ginseng, flaxseed, Lutein, cranberry and many many more... Which you don’t tend to find in Poundland’s finest. People reckon H&B will go out of business? It’ll be a VERY long time before they go broke. With 1368 (and more coming) across the world, the amount made in just my store alone ranges from between 15&20K on an average day. I completely agree that some of our items are cheaper elsewhere, but why complain about it if you can get it cheaper somewhere else? We even compare products for you with our honest opinions and I’ve told many many people that Boots or online is cheaper! I much prefer sitting back and giggling at those who reckon they know the ins and outs of a company they’ve never even worked for or probably bought from, what profits are made and why our sales go on. People just love a good grump about the costs and expenses but when it comes to that sacred CBD oil everyone’s rushing in for the penny sale or half price sale. But like I say I’d rather just sit back and laugh, doesnt affect my day so why would I sit around and entertain people on an app :/

At the very least, I've learnt something new. I suffer with Crohns Disease and thought Psyllium Husks were for constipation so not for me as I have the opposite issue. However your post made me look into it further, and taken alongside probiotics would appear to have a very positive effect.

So thanks Esux, you've been hopefully a great help to me at least.

And my little gem is to buy Green Lipped Muscle capsules if you have a dog with joint or stiffness, as they're far cheaper than the "Youmove" capsules for dogs, but can be used just the same and work a treat. My 17 year old Border Collies hind legs had become almost solid and imovable so I tried her one just 1 capsule a day and within 3 days she had loosened up and was running around again. So don't pay £50+ for Youmove when you can get 2 tubs of Mussel capsules in the sale for £7.50 that last twice as long for a tiny fraction of the price

It's the only one h&b sell, am I not allowed to have an opinion?
thanks OP for the info and about the husks & green muscles - useful info. And guys if it's too dear for you why even read the post?? If you pick and choose H & B is a good shop with quality products. The site is for listing deals can't see the point of bitching.
