I guess it depends if you're referring to the police as a force, or as a collection of individuals.

In any case, can anyone recommend some good coffee to use with this? I've never used anything other than instant coffee.

It all depends on taste really, my prefer'd brand is Douwe Egberts but i've had shops own labels and they have tasted just as nice

Very handy device, ideal for a quick cuppa

Yeah, I like Douwe Egberts' instant coffee, so I'll try that.

For something really special and on another level compared to anything available at a supermarket google for Has Bean Coffee, it's the nicest coffee we have ever had.

Edit: If you don't have a grinder, make sure you select the type of grind you want, otherwise they send whole beans.

Thanks for the suggestion tomatoboy, I might give it a go. Good quality coffee for my £1 cafetiere?

Yeah, why not?

They've been a quid for ages now - cold.

That's the good thing about cafetieres they all do a decent job. We brew our coffee in a cheap one we got on sale in Starbucks years and years ago. Decent coffee is the main thing. I personally like Kenyan or Ethiopian from cafetieres. Damnit, need to feed my addiction now!

Voted hot because of this useless comment.
Awsome. £1 retail so must have cost like 20p to make.. Quality.....lol
ave one, and find the mesh is not fine enough so does filter the coffee that well.

I voted hot too. I made that comment, as I do on all my fave posts, to generate heat from plonkers like you - I promise you it works every time.

Pick a post you think is going cold and watch me make it go hot.

Thanks LMAO.
What a bundle of joy you are.

heat OP
Ooh thanks OP was looking for one of these, hope they have one in the NW!
Good old Doug. :-)

Hee Hee More of this. I love it when the language nerds get riled.

Now my present problem is should I capitalise a object that a message is bringing attention to (I.E. Please put your rubbish in the Waste Paper Bin) or is that bad form?
Oh and BTW Heat Added.. Was looking for one of these!

Glad you need so little to amuse yourself. Who's the plonker? Coming back to the post it's a good deal for a pound.

Who's the plonker? You for firstly admitting that an online stranger has got under your skin and secondly for thinking I care.

Anyone with any intelligence would have ignored me, but not you...........FPMSL.

Now if they could just integrate this into a mug... and sell if for a pound WIN. (voted hot)
caffetiere is the most horrible way to make coffee, i never understood why anyone used them, i'd rather use a mocha. I'd even rather drink instant...haven't voted because a quid is cheap if you really want one, although i can't understand why anyone would.
Worth a quid for the glass refill. Personally, I think a nice Columbian or similar made in a cafetiere is as good as it gets. I like mocha and espresso and even now and then (whisper it) filter coffee, but medium strength coffees in cafetieres are my standard.
I've had two of these and they were awful, leaked the coffee all into the liquid after being pressed.
Please don’t buy one of these. If you’ve had the sense to buy real coffee, then have the sense to buy a real coffee machine. There is a world of difference between good quality, real coffee made in a good coffee machine and everything else called coffee.

Just picked one up and made a pot - about 1.5 mug fulls. Stretched the filter out a bit to ensure it scraped down the sides. Used my coffee that's ground for a stove top, so pretty fine, and all is well. Good deal for a quid.

Police is a collective noun, it becomes policeman or police officer or "police"woman in singular. You can't have 'a police'.

Having had a look at one today, I've changed my mind—it's not worth a quid. The mesh is too coarse, and the glass is fluted so that for the first inch or so of 'plunge' the grounds can come up around the sides of the filter.

That wasn't my experience with it - worked fine. However mine is now cracked after 3 days. It may have been knocked, not sure. Won't be buying another.
still a bunch of them in the Cambridge Grafton Centre.

bought two, heat (hot water) and grounds added :-)
