Cheap and cheerful. I was looking for something to store larger clothing items on, came across this.

Unclutter your closet with this narrow canvas shelving unit. Ideal for storing shoes and sweaters in the bedroom or towels in the bathroom. This lightweight unit comes complete with a pull out cream cover and you have the option to clip the front of this to the top, to hide away your things.

  • Made from pine.
  • Wooden frame.
  • Size H164, W48, D33cm.
  • 5 shelves.
  • Weight capacity 20kg.
  • Weight 4kg.
  • Self-assembly.

Some scrap wood from the garage cut, sanded & screwed on these baton shelves really does make it much more sturdy, would cost you much more buying the wood to make the base from B&Q/Homebase/Wickes - never mind the effort from scratch

I had these sort of units years ago in a massive American style walk in wardrobe (it could have made a double bedded kids bedroom in the master bedroom) I dyed the fabric, the light does show any dirt/marks - £3 black Dylon machine wash at Home Bargains with some cheap cooking salt and jobs a good ane!

Mine isn't cluttered but it is full of water - will this still help?

Yes mine is also full of water. I managed to get near enough all of it on these shelves.

Is there a knack to stop it falling through the slats?

Hope you understand that H164, W48, D33cm means SMALL! I've seen larger shoe racks.

I believe so, I just put all my water on loose seems to be holding well at the moment. Poured it on.

I can see it working on the coldest days, but as we approach the promised heatwave (where's it gone?)...................

Anyway, you might want to consider making a mop your first post?

Might be handy for surplus clothing/shoe storage in the loft?
My aunt has one of these in her room and surprisingly its still going strong after 5+ years and thats saying something as her so called solid wardrobe is in pieces
