Homebase Clearance Outlets

Seems that Homebase have now converted some stores into Clearance Outlets. Stores are : Bournemouth, New Southgate, Peterborough, Bristol, Warrington and Greenock so far.

These stores have restricted T&C's when purchasing from outlets. No returns except faulty items and to Clearance Outlet only. The percentage discounts vary from 10% to 50% I saw from the Bristol branch.

Probably rebranding these store to get rid of excess stock to Bunnings.

Bristols conversion was posted weeks ago on HDUK. The savings are utter jokes, a lot of items were still more expensive than B&Q due to the fact they were severely overpriced initially. Don't fall for this clearance malarky, its just a last ditch attempt to try and gain customers. I have visited Bristol personally and it was a complete waste of time, the majority of the store was 10% off, with the big 50% off reserved for.....bags of nails and hinges!
Be careful. We bought a new sink from here recently and it wasn't until it had been fitted that we found out that the water goes down the plughole the wrong way.

Thanks for sharing where the stores are. Come June I hope Bunnings will carry on. Don't really like Homebase, but then again not a fan of B&Q either. It's like Debenhams and House of Fraser etc get slagged off. It's about time the DIY stores get it. Most of what they sell is cheaper outside. I would only go to these stores for Dulux emulsion, if it was on offer.

Saves me a trip, thanks.
Which Bristol store is it?
Keeping my fingers crossed for the staff that they are not closing down as this is indeed just getting rid of stock.

You were either unlucky or didn't look properly - I have been into my local clearance store several times in the past week and bought -
pack of wallplugs 5p/ rubber blade window scraper 8p/ pack of picture hanging fixings 12p/ pointing trowel 35p/ and some other bits I have forgotten now.

You need to take your time and scan all the prices, as many items have been reduced to a fairly cheap price, but then the percentage discount is applied on top of that, making odd bits and pieces in every section a steal...... if you need them.
There was a massive stack of fairly sturdy black 'builders buckets', for around 50p with another discount on top, but as I didn't need any I forget the exact price and discount.

They're probably trimming stores before they start their countrywide conversion of homebase to bunnings uk
Be careful. We bought a new sink from here recently and it wasn't until it had been fitted that we found out that the water goes down the plughole the wrong way.
A manager in one of my local Homebase stores said that it was rumoured that some stores will be closed, but who knows!
Bunnings is part of the massive Wesfarmers group in Australia and successfully saw off a challenge from the Masters Home Improvements stores that were owned by the rival Woolworths Group
Wesfarmers have lost money with their Bunnings UK and Ireland stores as well as with their Target stores but I wouldn't write their presence off in the UK just at the moment.
We need an alternative to B&Q and I wish Bunnings luck in their venture.
I to can confirm that 90% of the stuff in the clearance stores are rubbish. Safes are 50% along with hardware so if your after fixings for a new safe then your sorted. Power tools are 10% off, a quick check online shows its much cheaper else where. The store in Bristol will likely be a clearance store for around a year, so South West stock from other homebase stores can be sent there and sold whilst those stores are being converted.
