Wilko's currently have 25% off most homebrew items both instore and online. Includes beer and wine kits and most equipment. Milestone kits are £16.50 and the classic Woodfords Wherry is £14.25. I picked up a couple of Wilko's own Fruits of the Forest Cider for £11.25 each ready for summer!!

Bummer mate - that cider is disgusting. nowhere near a proper forest fruit cider. Wilkos beer kits are pretty good though, definitely gonna stock up. Hopefully they'll do the father's day half price again this year.

Thanks for sharing!

Have you tired making it with Vimto or Ribena instead of sugar when bottling? Its amazing, it tastes as good as any commercial fruit cider. Without the cordial it's really bland, but the cordial makes it come alive.

barrgunter, how much cordial do you recommend using in a 5 gallon batch then?

I've only ever bottled and I put a 50ml shot of cordial in a litre bottle, so work it out from that. You have to make sure it's the full sugar version, none of the diet/low sugar stuff.

Awesome find mate!
Wherry, new FV, caps and air locks - 27quid! Happy days!

That's a shame as there's 4.2% Topcashback on online purchases and free collection from store.

You have to apply HOMEBREW25 as the voucher code to get the discount.

Wilko kits are pretty good value, just ordered a few odds i need ready for the big all grain experience so no need for full kits this time : (

Great, thanks for the heads up op. Woodforde's kits are overpriced at full price, this is about right. Heat added.

Mexican Cerveza kit is really good! Tastes similar to Corona or Sol

Trying the Dark Velvet Stout next

Heat added!

what equipment would I need for the pear cider?

looks good though

A few years ago when I was doing this a lot more than I am now, I went from kits to all grain, then after a few years of all grain, back to kits such as Woodfordes. I found there wasn't so much of a difference in my all grain compared with a Woodfordes Wherry, for example, except that one takes a bit longer than making a good pot of tea in terms of my labour and intervention (then a couple of weeks of waiting, kegging and waiting again), the other basically wipes out an entire Saturday (then a couple of weeks of waiting, kegging and waiting again). All grain is fun, though, but it's really a sport, more than it is a way to obtain decent beer.

Full price in Gillingham (Kent) Wilkinsons

... But discounted in Rainham.

If you have a good look their own kits have gone up in price medium dry used to £16 up to £20, chardonnay used to be £20 gone up to £23 they have raised the price for the offer

The kits may have gone up, but the basic sugar, caps, yeast, etc all seem to be the same price

Chepstow only had 20% off in store
Still, good deal.

Ordered 2 different wine kits. Plenty of time to brew and rest for the summer!

Is this still on?
