A 500 quid phone for a ten year old is just plain stupid. this will do the job

Warning for Homtom ,doogee etc phones... Storage disappears quickly and deleting files does not bring it back... If you're a heavy user of apps etc I'd avoid as factory resets and restores become the norm, however if it's just Facebook and WhatsApp then it works just fine as bought one for the mother too and it's still not needed a reset in 10 months

Is that a fake fingerprint scanner?

Works well if the same as the standard version, and not just a masked unlock button like some of the fake s8s

This is from the listing, suggesting it is a real one. 32241228-ZKFrD.jpg

Has anyone else wondered why all th Chinese phone brands sound like Star Wars characters?

I know it has been said before about Homtom/Doogee phones, but bear in mind that Homtom/Doogee phones generally come with adware installed and in many cases malware as well. The HT17 pro is reported to have adware in its latest official firmware on XDA. Both previous Homtom/Doogee phone I had, had adware and malware in the operating system. Had to root both to remove them.

Price went up

I can’t cancel it now it’s too late this phone not gonna be good

£72.99 now

Had the HT6 a while back. Worked perfectly fine. At £50 I'd have had this one!

Any links on guides on how to root the phone? Never done it before. Thanks in advance.

HomTom are relatively decent, I had a HT10 for a few months a while back and it was perfectly fine

I have to agree with you I had a Doogee X5 Pro and it had preloaded Malware then I got a OTA update saying they had removed the malware but they hadn't they had just moved the Malware into a different file. If you care about your privacy don't get cheap Chinese phones it's been proven that most brands even Oneplus are collecting user data or purposely adding Malware .

I said this in another thread and basically got told I was lying! Found the same in an F9 Pro. Of course it depends if the software isn't 'malicious' and they're just serving you ads to subsidize the low handset cost or if it's something much worse. How much do you trust them or value your data and privacy?

On the Doogee T6 I have, it was adware and malware. On the Homtom HT6 it was just adware. The Bluboo Picasso 4G had both adware and malware as was the same with the Doogee X5 pro. Malwarebytes app is pretty good at detecting most stuff on these devices so if you are in doubt, download it and try it.

Rec'd phone and gave to 10 year old who loves it. Anybody collecting data better like Vanessa vids on YouTube.

That's a shame - the one i bought for my daughter has been flawless. Really performs well - she's really chuffed.
