Well done you. Everyone will be so jealous of you in your diesel vauxhall. Better is a subjective term but to be honest I think I'd struggle to think of any car that's worse than yours

You bought a five year old diesel? Enjoy the upcoming diesel maintenance bills coming your way!
Do you get the deposit back?

Is this better than a 10 year old BMW?

Do you get to keep the car at the end?

These are all questions that need to be answered.

Most reliable car hands down. No other vehicle will touch it!
Buy a decent 2005 bmw for that and you get to keep it
Friend has still an old Jazz and its going strong, very reliable indeed. The new ones actually look very good. This is a good deal.

Prius and Yaris are more reliable than these. It's a shame that relaibility seems to be inversely proportional to looks. So if you want relaibility you have to go for an ugly car.

Compromise with a Auris/Corolla hybrid?
Never seen anyone but 60 year old swingers in these. Good deal though can't go wrong with a honda

I had 2 new Toyotas. Both went wrong within 2 years. Honda I have had 8 different ones. Never a problem. Toyotas were good once upon a time.

So you are extrapolating your personal experience with Toyotas to suggest that all Toyotas are bad. Excellent logic there...

I'm my circle within 50 different cars the jazz was only 1 that had no issues. Even mercs, BMW, Toyota, lexus, Peugeot, etc all had issues. Apart from someone who had a Bentley. Even Austin Martin had issue

Not at all. I had friends who had as well. They had problems. The Yaris is very good. Depends on which model. To many recall problems.

Ridiculous to judge it on just your personal experience. I've owned one Honda and it was the least reliable car I've owned. I wouldn't however be daft enough to extrapolate that and say that Hondas are less reliable than Peugeots just because of my limited personal experience.

Not just me. Friends also. My Toyota was recalled and they said I had to pay to get it fixed. Lot of customers were not happy. That was the manager who was giving me the info. Few customers were taking them to court. So not ridiculous.

It is achievable, but not to ‘badge buyers’, example here;

Good price, trim level and decent mileage allowance for the money. It's gonna cost you more than 4k in depreciation over 2 years to buy as big discounts are a bit thin on the ground with these.

You could always buy used but if you need a reliable, warranted car then this fits the bill. For those that think warranties are a waste I had a Vauxhall Zafira with Lifetime warranty; in 8 years I had these warranty claims: 2 ecu, gearbox, steering rack, 2 control modules (£1800 each!) and 1 window motor - must be £10k+ easy. You can buy third party warranties but manufacturers tend to be less hassle. Heat added.

My personal experience also doesn't match up to various brands reputations of reliability.

A passat, I had was in the garage more often than I drove it, you only had to look at it and the engine warning light would come on, Yet an alfa and a TVR I had never broke down and I only had to replace consumables, despite a reputation that they would leave me stranded and penniless at the side of the road. Nor did the TVR kill me in a fireball or put me in a ditch.

I reckon that passat was built by a chap on a friday afternoon, after a long boozy lunch.

I’d be willing to bet that the Bentley was the most troublesome of the lot - I think you’ll find that particular friend doesn’t like telling anyone when his car breaks...
