Honda Vision 110cc Scooter with 121mpg - £1800 OTR

This is cheap to run, cheap to insure and cheap to service. Brilliant little commuter bike. I've already got a car and 600cc bike but I'd love this little thing to save money on my many short journeys that I make.

One of the reviews: autotrader.co.uk/EDI…tml

This price is the RRP by the way. The reason why I put it up is because I think it's a super cheap and fun (in the summer...) way of commuting. But, if you don't think it's a deal, discuss below!

Disclaimer: A bicycle may or may not get you to the same destination in which you are going on the scooter, at a lower net cost and at a greater expenditure of personal calories.

Isn't the price the normal RRP?
Yes it is, my friend bought one a couple of weeks ago.

A bicycle could be a lot cheaper, and good exercise : )
Its better than you say in the header, its actually 141mpg. Heat added.
It is the normal RRP. I thought it's a good buy anyway, but if it's not in accordance with HUKD policy, then I'll get rid of it.

141mpg is Honda's figure. Real world testing got 121mpg; still staggering!

Decentbloke, I've added a disclaimer to accommodate your comment.
The 121 mpg mentioned is from real testing on the roads of UK. The 141 mpg is the honda testing on a flat road with no wind with a 6 stone guy riding in speedo's hiden under the fairing :op
Good but THISis the better bike
Anf/innova are the modern day cub. There are chinese copies too. When I went to greece almost everyone had either real honda ones or various copies, I agree that they are probably a better built bike and more mods can be made and no rollers to replace.
I bought my Honda CBF 125 cc Bike for about 2k. And that does between 90 and 130 mpg (depending on who you ask). Just another option out there.
Yes it can do a million miles to the gallon but how much will you loose on earnings when you fall off on black ice in the winter months and you are strapped up for 4 months ? If you want economy then perhaps look into buying a small, reliable and safe 2nd hand cheap motor car for £1800 . .At least then you wont sound like you are sat on a hair dryer on the way to work
A bit like riding a fat bird, great fun until your mates find out!
What is the top speed?
Hot, might be safer driving a car but it's not as much fun!

50mph ish depending on which way the wind is going

Measure how far forwards you move when you fart gently, then divide that into the time taken.

Sorry.
I love the look of this one - wow
Nice disclaimer, hot just for that!

Anti-troll and anti-mong measures: ON.

That's amazingly cool. Where's the tank?
Heat added cus Hondas are good machines
If you add up the cost of extra insurance and tax I wonder how many miles you would have to do to justify buying one over a car which does say 40mpg
Just buy a C90 - easy to fix, awesomely retro and cool, and you can deliver pizza on your time off....

The insurance and tax would be massively less than a car, so again that's something in the scooter's favour...

Whilst it is worth knowing if something is RRP or not as a deal, a item can still be a deal at full price if it is good value against competition or in demand. No rules against posting, nor should there be as it us the people to decide if something is hot and a good deal or not. Whole point of the site really
Forget the mpg, get one of these instead, so much more fun !!

But people aren't buying this (or other deals like this) to replace their car, (are they?)

I travel 24 miles daily and have contemplated a motor cycle, problem is by the time you factor in insurance etc there is no gain, I am happy to be corrected

125 4 strokes dont sound like hair dryers, your getting mixed up with 50cc mopeds. I just sold my 125 as winter is coming and want a car again, they both have there pro's and cons.
Costs me £50 to insure this capacity of bike - MUCH cheaper than a car.

I am slightly puzzled why something posted at the normal retail is getting so much heat? However, it is true that running one of these is just about the cheapest method of powered transport.

Ive had both, and yes a cheap small car is cheaper if you take into account servicing, tyres etc etc, insurance for me was half that of a car, tax £16. It can work out the same really, but if you always find yourself getting stuck in traffic go for a bike, but im going back to a car as winters coming.

it's quite a bargain compared with the price of a decent electric bike.

that said, I don't see why this price is *special* making it hot. not voting.

Not sure if ive missed part of the discussion but I've never known a bike to be anywhere near the cost of running even an economy car? - unless your meaning running a car and a bike?

Me = 10 yr no claims, licence 14 years, clean:

-1.3 litre Ka - £450 insurance and rising (fast). Tax £125. MPG 40.
-Moped: £90 insurance. £15 tax. MPG 120.

I'm giving up my car soon as its become unaffordable, I used to pay less for a group 17 sports car. I can pay a lot less and not have to sit in endless traffic jams.

10 years driving - no claims - £450.00 for Fully Comp on a KA == REALLY?

Even using comparison sites or just renewing when asked?

I paid £190.00 for fully Comp on a 2.0 GT (Primera) (And got £70 Quidco refunded)
spaceinvader:

Mental, I pay £380 for a Group 15 Civic VTi full comp...think you're being robbed. I have 8 years no claims, 11 years licence, clean.

Do you live in 'da ghetto'?
