T6 Smart Programmable Thermostat. The Lyric T6 Series integrates with almost every heating system. Touch-screen technology makes scheduling, changing and overriding temperatures easy and the Lyric app gives complete control over home heating, including schedules and automated synchronisation with the thermostat. Using the smartphone location feature the Lyric T6R communicates with the app to determine when a property is vacant, or when you are on your way home, adjusting the temperature automatically. Features a choice of schedule settings including 7 day, 5/2 day and single day scheduling with up to 6 x different time settings per day. 'Apple Home Kit' ready, meaning it can be controlled using an Apple device (requires iOS 8.1 or later), as part of a suite of home kit compatible products. Compatible with 24-230V on/off and 'OpenTherm' appliances such as gas boilers, combi-boilers and heat pumps. Also works with zone valve applications but not with electric heating (240V).

  • Suitable for All Boilers
  • 3½" Touchscreen Display
  • Control via Smartphone/Tablet
  • Location-Based Programming (Geo-Fencing)
  • ‘Optimum Start, Stop & Delayed Start’ Boiler Control
  • Wi-Fi Enabled Connectivity

I have the wireless version and can be operated via alexa xx
If I have 8 zones would I need 8 of these?
Also works with Google
Do you need someone special to install one of these or could I do it myself (safely and legally?!)?
(background: I know how to change a light switch and sockets but that's about all!)

Seems fairly straightforward to me especially if you already have a wired thermostat in place.

I fitted mine a couple of weeks ago, if you think you could do this, you’ll be fine:

If the existing thermostat has a neutral connection then the control module can be powered from this supply and then the control module is connected to the display. Take a look at the wiring diagrams on the Honeywell website. If you don’t understand them it would suggest you need to get professional fitting.

Yikes. I take it back that looks quite complicated
How are you finding it now you've finished the install?

Great, although I got the wireless one from the BT shop (when it was £69) and the display is difficult to accommodate in my house, as it needs to be plugged into a 13A socket. I would have preferred to have it permanently fixed to a wall like this one.
Like the previous poster said, there are plenty of example wiring diagrams on the Honeywell site, and if you have a combi boiler the wiring will be simpler. My system has a hot water cylinder and is a ‘Y-plan’.
What price
is this better than hive?
I'm saving my moola and putting it towards an evohome system
The T6R plug in non wall mount version is currently £95 on amazon UK. Recent price drop from £118ish (18th) according to CCC.

Good spot. I personally didn't want the portable thermostat as I'd just use the app instead. Makes no sense to me
