Still waiting for it to go back down to £219

Me too, picked one up for my mum. Lovely phone but Emui bloat is horrible. Still prefer my Nokia 8 for it's purity and better vfm. So don't think honor 10 is worth £299 but definitely worth £219.

True hotukdealers never forget a good deal and will hold out as long as it takes or until someone invents a working DeLorean

Yeah, was expecting it, it was me that posted that deal actually, and i can't see it going back down to that price anytime soon.

I think this is a good price and still a worthy purchase at £299, the £219 imo was a mistake on amazon's part (which John Lewis matched, albeit for a very brief period), just like the mi 8 lite I posted that was incorrectly priced.

Fair enough, but miss prices are pretty rare (on mobile phones anyway) and the last time I checked, the MOD hadn't even started looking into manufacturing a time machine!

Yeah i got mine at that time also. I think it's a great phone because i like the one hand control which i missed when I switched to other phones (HTC, Samsung, ZTE). I think £250 is a fair price but i also think no phone is worth over £500 lol

To be fair the honor 9 dropped to £169.99 in June 2018 from £280 suddenly too. So i think it's a trend with JL and/or Amazon with these honor phones.
Just picked up an honor play and seriously not getting on with. Would this be a better bet? I can't get the play to scroll well like my iPhone in apps and it's driving me up the wall. Bought it at argos so no worries taking it back if this would work out better

Both being Huawei /Honor, you may end up with the same problem. Try a xiaomi

If you're not getting on with the Play, then the 10 won't help. It's the same CPU and memory configuration, and they have similar default apps and share the EMUI launcher.

Thanks
...btw, its Android was recently updated to Pie
Bought it when was 219, used at that time Galaxy S6. Honor 10 felt weird after S6, all was good, but display colors and interface didn't make me comfortable. After a month got used to it. Great battery life and storage.
No problem with mine and apps. Everything is fast with no slowdowns at all. Just updated to pie . Seems same tho

Tempted by this but thought it wouldn't match a second hand S8 or S8 plus hmm currently have an s7 edge and still musing over whether this is a worthy upgrade

You'll find a better battery life on this than the S7e but the colours might put you off at first. It's an LCD and you're coming from an OLED so there are differences to be expected. To me, some differences in specs is a deal breaker, but if you don't mind the lack of a micro SDcard slot then this phone will be an upgrade in terms of performance and Android Pie. The Kirin 970 is about the same as the SD835/Exynos 8895 in the S8 but with a bigger battery.

I have the Honor View 10 and I don't find EMUI to be much of a bloat (not if you manually uninstall apps through ADB :P), especially after a Nova Launcher and EMUI9 (Android Pie) treatment. There are some inconsistencies with the UI but I won't go into that here, it'll turn into a rant otherwise.

In my opinion though, unless you're having serious problems with the S7e, I wouldn't look into a last-gen new phone now. The Honor 10 will be an upgrade, despite a lack of SDcard expansion, but I don't think it will be a worthwhile one considering you're coming from an S7e.

Appreciate the in depth reply! My s7e is developing a pink line on the screen otherwise its holding up well battery wise etc. Don't mind non expandable storage with the 128gb

With the Honor v20 out, I think the 10 could drop some more soon. Might be best to wait a while. Easter sales maybe?

Comparing the specs its inferior in most ways, whether that goes with real world use is another matter

No more than £250/£300 I would say I missed out on the honor 10 for £220 @john Lewis so it would be hard to pay more for it knowing it was that price before.

If you bought it in store Argos can be funny in terms of returning it as you have opened it.

Or atleast that used to be the case however if it is faulty they have to accept it back regardless.

Just had to show the girl what my issue was with it. I was offered a replacement or a refund.
