Cheers, I thought it was decent, phone alone sim free is £399 which leaves £161 for 12gb data over 24m > £6.70pm
I was looking at this phone from mpd but the monthly payment was always way higher than this and then paid back by redemption.

This is such a good deal, for a great phone on a premium provider (contentious) and its a fixed monthly outlay.

Great deal

Absolutely it's a very good deal , shame I can't prise my son off apple !! He's unwilling to lose all his games progress by switching to Android plus the Mrs and daughter are both on apple too so they facetime each other a lot
Will no doubt end up getting him an ip8 or ipxs as he doesn't want a huge screen
He's on EE at present with a 6s I pay £15 per month but he only gets 1Gb data so definitely changing as they're rubbish for deals in my experience , I was on EE before and always gifted him data every month
I have until June to find another contract so I'm not rushing metrofone , fonehouse and Mobile phones direct have plenty of good deals on the i8

He needs to stay on Apple, there's little point him changing, once you're invested in iOS or Android depending on the software it's better to stay where you are. iOS is massively better than Android for photography apps. I have no idea wtf is up with Android in this respect but it's hopeless in comparison. I still stay on Android as I have a Pixel 2 and Google are filling in the gaps somewhat with computational photography, whereas the iPhone 11 series has computational photography too baked in but also many apps that add extra computational photography apps. Android has none which is a disaster in my opinion.

Also if you have £450 to spend and don't want a contract, nothing really beats the Realme X2 Pro for the money, it has just about everything 12GB/256GB, 90Hz panel, 30 minute rapid charging, Snap 855+ etc. buy.realme.com/eu/…121 Up until recently they had UK plug spec in Lunar White, but they must have sold out

Agreed. The Realme X2 Pro is an outstanding (android) phone. Also available from Amazon Spain for €450 (£385 approx).

Yeah the issue is the charger having an EU plug and not UK otherwise I'd probably buy that. The charger is 50W fast charging, I don't want to use an adapter.

Can't you just cut the eu plug off and fit a uk one?
Edited by: "Siddas" 9th Feb
The electronics are normally built into the plug.
These types of adapters don't fit.

Or you can just cut off the plug but it would void the warranty on the charger and maybe the phone if anything goes wrong.
Whatever current is going through the EU plug would go through the adapters I would have thought but maybe not. I know you can get different power adaptors. 39875331-uvB0b.jpg
Looks good *BUT*... can anyone comment on Huweai restrictions/lack of updates/being forced from the market? Is that something to worry about?

This phone will still be supported as long as usual.

Thank you. I've kept my last phone for 3 years (S7), so want to make sure it will last. Not doubting you, but can I check if the support is expected to last 3 years? I thought they were being squeezed out in some way.

Without investigating it, I csnt really answer your question thoroughly, all I will say is, it's will be supported for at least the next year, maybe two

So probably no good to you

Yes, I might steer clear of this one. Also no phone jack or waterproofing. Hmm...not for me probably. What a shame! Thanks all the same.
