As you have a LG G2 (with a better-than-average camera), I'd recommend staying with LG &, as you've raised your budget + prices have recenlty drastically fallen, I'd suggest a G6 or V20 - both from EGC though for the lowest prices (use discount code HAPPY3YEARS & select the free delivery for the best possible price):

G6 (£326):eglobalcentral.co.uk/lg-…tml
V20 (£272): eglobalcentral.co.uk/lg-…tml

One downside with the V20 is that it's quite large compared to the G2 especially (follow size comparison link below).

The EGC-sourced G6 is the enhanced Korean model, so has 64Gb, dual-SIM & the quad-DAC (i.e. not a cut-down UK version).

Make sure to pay with a credit card, so you're covered - more info here: moneysavingexpert.com/sho…ses

How about the fact that you're buying from an established UK retailer with the security that that provides for just a few quid extra?
I'm in as soon as I get back to Blighty in a couple of days.
Thanks OP. Caught this on FB as well. Heat added.

Hot from me! have two honour 4x's in the family for over 2 years now and still going strong both have been excellent phones.

Oh cool I stand corrected, thanks!
anyone that has one.... it's the battery as bad as I read?
best camera for sub £200?

any owners give their opinion?
I've got a 2 year old Honor 7 which has been fantastic. Unfortunately the Honor 8 (and 9) are over £100 more than I paid for the 7. If I was looking at a new phone just now, I would love this - it has everything I personally would like, except it's only 2.4GHz wifi - I would miss the 5GHz option for the performance/contention issues it gives at the moment,
Looks great for the spec, I'd prefer it to the Lenovo P2, and better than any crap from gearbest or banggood. It'll turn up for a start.
This a fantastic phone, camera is great, battery is fantastic. You can hammer it all day and you'll have enough juice by the end of the night. I have not seen the OTA Nougat update yet (although it has already been made available in India). EMUI is decent too, of course not stock Android but has some great features.

is the camera fast?

one review said occasionally it lags when opening apps, do you agree?
Looks like a really good phone for the price. Thanks for posting. Might need it soon...
I've never had a problem with the battery and I use mine quiet heavily. Really love this phone
Missus got one from Three months ago

great camera - very good battery life - lovely display .... compared with the old phone - the HUKD old favourite SU6

Camera is very good. Not flagship but better than nearly all under £250. Video only record 1080p at 30fps but it's decent quality. No issues to report regarding opening apps / games.
I've had an S7, S7 Edge and moved them on (too many little things that kept bugging me), but the 6X has stuck around for the long haul.
Plus you should get a case in the packaging as standard! Woo!
Agreed with the positive comments on this phone. I have this phone and it's great. No issues with battery, speed or camera.

Only negative for me personally is Nougat (Android 7.0) and EMUI 5.0 was supposed to be made available in Spring - still waiting! It's available in India and I could force flash it if I wanted, but rather wait until it's officially released in the UK OTA. At least I know it'll eventually be coming...

OIS on the Camera? my 4 year old G2 has it

No OIS but the results are very good. None of that jelly effect you get on many cheaper phones.
5.5 inch.
This is probably the best UK based deal on a proper brand phone going at the moment. It's powerful enough for 95% of users and a two year guarantee just caps the deal. If you are not hungry for the latest and greatest mobile and have a limited but not tiny budget then this is the one to go for at the moment.

P2 looks the better buy.
this or Moto g5

yeah same thoughts, sounds like g5 overheats sometimes?
but the honor 6x is not as "tough" and breaks easily
anyone have both? lol

Battery is great, day and a half 2 on moderate usage
195 at Amazon
Have this and love it! Worth every penny. At £189 it's a bargain
Whats this like for bloatware?
Got this for £209 from Three Mobile. It's a very good phone but selfies are horrible from front camera. Snapchat selfies look even worse if you need it for that. Back camera is great, takes good pictures under proper light.
Overall 3GB of ram makes it snappy and apps load and open without lagging.
It's also missing physical buttons that samsung have but it's not much of an issue.

Xiaomi mi5
There seems to be quite a few phones at the moment around this price point. I was wondering if this will be adequate for my mum, i.e. easy to use. I've read that using the camera can be a bit problematic, should i pay a bit more for something else. I was also looking at the P2 as well.

Any suggestions from anyone would be very welcome.

Xiaomi mi5

If you can get it for under £200 with a proper UK warranty from Amazon etc then yes. Wouldn't get it from gearbest or banggood even if it was £50.
is there a notification light?

If that's true then Huawei are very inconsistent. The SIM free P9 still doesn't have Nougat and is still on September 2016 security patches.

I'm drawn between this or the Huawei P8 Lite (2017) for £179.99. They look very similar except for a 5.2 screen on the P8 lite and the fact that it come with Nougat.

Read lots about mobile phones last few weeks (son wants a new one), and this phone appears to be the pick between the two.
Can't remember where I saw them compared, but this was the choice - sorry if that's not too helpful (hopefully someone who knows better might pop in).

At any rate, this was a good read on this phone; phandroid.com/201…gs/
