Amazon are selling the Huawei Honor 9 for £307.99 - that's £2 cheaper than the current Argos deal, and £72 off the regular price.

After looking, Argos have none in stock near me and for some reason won't deliver to me or my family address either, so maybe have none left in stock?

Superb phone! I've just upgraded from an Honor 6+ to one of these.
Money well spent and very nearly as powerful as the other flagship phones.

Camera shutter speeds and quality any good in real life? Really trying to resist for the next year refresh on my lg g4
This or the p10 lite or p8 lite ?

Hate not knowing what present to buy for someone. All I know is they want a phone!

That G5S Plus on Amazon IT. looks good >>>
Was £299 on Black Friday!.. So cold from me!..
Still loving my £200 honor 8
Only for the blue one. The grey ones are still £379.99
Kirin 970 is much better than Kirin 960. I would rather buy phone with Kirin 970 if spending so much money.

It WAS - WAS being the operative word here.

You can't vote 'cold' just because it WAS cheaper once. If you can find it cheaper NOW, vote cold and post the cheaper price. If you can't - either vote hot, or don't vote at all.

I swear, some people have no idea how this site is supposed to work...

That's from a third party seller - not many people want to buy phones from them.

This deal is sold direct from Amazon themselves.
I bought a Nokia 5 recently (didn't want to splash out too much on a new phone) got it for £119. Have to say it's an excellent phone for the price, but for me however it lacks in certain areas (performance, lag, camera...) so now i'm looking to sell it and go for something a bit more "flagship".

My previous phone was a OnePlus 2 which I fell in love with so a 5T would be ideal, not for £400+ though. But this Honor 9 has me intrigued, It's got great reviews and an amazing camera for an Android phone. Would prefer 6GB RAM and 64GB storage is plenty for me.

Anyone know any downsides to this phone? Or any phones that I should also look at? I would say my budget is about £350.

Thanks in advance

I have the phone already - only found this deal because my girlfriend was looking for a new one and it's an affordable way to introduce her to Android (she's coming from Windows phone!).

Personally, the only downside to this phone I've found is that it can be quite aggressive with closing apps. Apparently it's much improved over previous Honor/Huawei software though, so hopefully it gets even better with the next update.

Couple of examples:
1. Sometimes my wallpaper app (mixture of Backdrops and Muzei) deactivate, causing me to have the default wallpaper until I reactivate it.
2. Telegram messenger sometimes doesn't notify me of new messages. I rarely use the app though, so I think that's why - still, it is annoying. I have no problems with WhatsApp which I use all the time, or Facebook Messenger which I don't use that often.

Generally the phone performs very well, has a decent camera and looks great, so I personally feel it's worth the small compromises.

Oh, and the only other phone I can think of, but might be slightly out of your budget, is the Nokia 8. It's probably unlikely to have the downsides I mentioned for the Honor 9, but you'd have to read reviews for other pros and cons - I don't think it looks as nice, and I'm not sure the camera is as good from what I've heard though.

Got alerts from camelcamelcamel this morning - this seller had knocked about a quarter of the price of the 3 phones I was watching (this phone, the LG G6, and the Honor 7X). I find it a little suspicious. The seller has a 98% positive rating, with 52 ratings in total.

This is what made me a bit suspicious also, I guess it's just having the guarantee of a trusted seller.

Thanks for this, I'm really on the edge of pressing the buy button, just need something to really make me take the leap. If the price was about £280 it would be a no brainer for me. Is yours the 4GB RAM version? Do you find it to run smoothly? I don't particularly use my phone for gaming or such but i'd watch the odd Netflix show if i'm travelling. If there's no issues with that side of things then i'd definitely go for it.

I found the P10 cameras good, but not great - could get nice shots in the sun, but suffered a bit in low light. You'd struggle to get better in a recent phone at this kind of price, though.

The set up in this is v similar to the p10

Generally no problems with running smoothly. I've had a couple of occasions where it lagged a bit, no idea why. A restart solved it (something I rarely do).

One other downside I can think of, but it's really the phone's fault... The tempered glass screen protector I use sometimes causes the Back and Recents buttons to stick and be unresponsive, but as I said, not the fault of the phone. Getting a screen protector to fit properly is tough too - I've passed by many that don't fill the whole screen. I've never used a tempered screen protector before this phone though (I used to have flip covers on pervious phones, but not this one), so not sure how common these issues actually are.

And yes, sorry, 4GB version. I didn't think you could get the 6GB version here? At least not at launch which is when I bought mine (at full price ).

That depends, do you want to spend ~£150/£130, @£200/£180*, or ~£310. Spend more and you'll get a better phone. They all seem fairly well regarded for their price point.
