Not voting as I got one from JL for £159 so a good price but better recently for time machine owners.

Worth mentioning it can get OTA updates to Oreo and EMUI 8.0 even if it ships with nougat out of the box.

Could you please explain how and when did you get this for that much price please.

John Lewis knocked them out at £159 to clear stock, missed the first batch, came back into stock, got one and now they're are de-listed. Sorry!
I also managed to get one for £159 last week (which was a stupid price for this phone), but still well worth the price in this deal, and I cannot think of many better phones for this price, so have some heat!
Also got one for £159. Decent price nevertheless.
Received my blue one from JL earlier this week and received my grey one today via Royal Mail. Total price £320 for two!

Just keep hitting the "check for updates" button. It did a few incremental updates on nougat/emui 5.1 and then finally pulled down Oreo and EMUI 8.0

This was over WiFi and with no SIM installed. At least one download was 2.83gb or something daft!
Yes took a few attempts to get Oreo here too but runni g it beautifully. Impressed with the phone and camera for the £159 I paid for it too
Great handset. I have been using one since yesterday and was lucky enough to catch the JL sub £160 deal.

A few updates later now running Oreo with face detection, nice bit of kit.
Great phone for the most part - I've had mine about 6 months. However, it's notoriously bad with Strava, which I wish I'd known before I bought it!
Mine came today too from jl, but battery drained very quickly after update to oreo.

How have others found the battery life on this?

I updated to Oreo quite fast, so can't really comment on what it was like before. I find it is draining quite fast too, but not sure as I've not had a recent comparable smartphone to use as a benchmark. The XDA forums seem to state it's good for 2 days light use, but the Kirin 960 uses a fair bit of power, so much less on heavy usage.
I can't get mine to update to Oreo. I've tapped update about 20 times and nothing.... I don't want to go down the firmware finder install since it's available OTA. How did you guys manage the update? Thanks. Ps if you want a decent glass screen protector try the air glass flexible glass from Brotect. Great stuff.

Took mine off charge yesterday afternoon after Oreo update and security patches, moderate use since, currently 92% battery.

Contact them on twitter and they'll send a link. I've always sorted any issues with my honor 8 and 7 that way
Anyone have experience of this phone and the Huawei P20 Lite? Trying to decide between the two

Mine took a couple of days on standby and I kept clicking update took its time but finally done..
I tried to update but it didn't while I was testing the phone. As soon as I put my virgin SIM the update appeared itself. So now updated.

My mate moans about his P8 Lite on Strava and Garmin connect. Have you clicked the padlock on the open apps windows and gone into the app settings to change the power management?
As soon as I put the SIM card from my old phone into the Honor it came up straight away! Running 8 now
