Seems a great price for a good spec phone with very good reviews. A flagship phone for for under £300 seems too good to be true to me.

I'd definitely choose the Honor 9 over the Elephone S7 (ES7) for the following reasons. The ES7 is very good value for money no doubt:

- Better SoC in the Kirin 960 (even the previous model Kirin 955 just beats the X20)
- Dual-rear cameras (1x colour, 1x monochrome)
- Better cameras, better effects
- Nougat pre-installed (only Marshmallow pre-installed on the ES7)
- MicroSD card slot up to 256Gb (only up to 128Gb on the ES7)
- NFC
- InfraRed port
- More premium quality
- Longer lasting, more durable in the long run
- More regular OS updates

You know it isn't all about cores right? For example, the SD820 has 4 cores and it annihilates the X20

Thanks for this op
If you want this delivered before the year 2020, I would suggest you don't order from gearbest

Do you seriously consider cores to be an indicator of processor performance? iPhones with their dual core processors have been topping benchmarks.

Shame about the spyware that elephone are being prosecuted for having installed in thier ROM
I guess no band 20 on this version?
Love the Honor 8. Tempted but not worthy of an upgrade... 9 plus out soon no doubt.

Band 20 ?
I paid 129 for Honor 7, then 199 for Honor 8, but now they want too much for H9, I don't think I'll ever spend more than 200 on any phone

Unfortunately not....

Band 20 ?

Many of these Chinese-sourced phones lack this 4G band, which certain UK networks use (like O2 for example). This means that the phone will not work on 4G with an O2 SIM & some others.
I got the email from gearbest about umidigi s2 it has everything I ever wanted in the phone only thing I don't like is it's little too big
5000mhz battery, type c with fast charging, IR blaster and price is only 135 should I take the plunge or its too good to be true
Awful company. Didn't get my phone last year or a refund

I had that phone for all of about 5 days... terrible piece of hardware. No NFC, the fingerprint scanner was awful (Honor's are excellent) and very buggy software.

You must of had some POS phones in the past if you love it haha
Thanks, I was getting annoyed by lack of space on my Honor 7 16GB so took the plunge on this.. Oh and spent the £6 on shipping insurance so no worries if it doesn't turn up.

These jumps whilst large are 3 fold. More expensive components are going into the phones, reliable phone manufacturers are charging higher prices because they can, and the £ has dropped so badly against the $ due to worries about Brexit (the yuan is pegged to the us$, so ot directly increases the price of Chinese imports).
Take out the 20% decline in the £ and that is £40-56 of this years price increase.

I have the elephone P9000 and it has NFC and works excellent. Not had any problems with at all. I get regular updates. You must have the p9000 lite that hasn't got NFC.

You forgot to mention that the screen on the honor 9 is only 5.15 inches. Seems a lot of money for a smaller than average screen.

Is it worth getting a new phone without the capacity for 4g then ? any idea if the honor 9 you can buy direct from 3 would be usable with 4g

Nope, I had the full size P9000, I had it last November and Google Pay didn't work with the NFC. Android 7 got really delayed as well and their customer service I couldn't confirm if the finger print and NFC issues were going to get fixed or not.

Theannoying bit of it was that the fingerprint reader didn't work and the battery was terrible. Spent a bit more money and got the Honor 8 instead and not looked back.

If I remember, apps like NatWest, PayPal and other secure apps wouldn't see the phone as trusted so I couldn't use things like Fingerprint readers in those apps - didn't really want to go back in time so I sent it back to Amazon.

Yes, I deliberately omitted the one 'positive' that the HS7 has over the Honor. But that's a subjective aspect, as many people (especially with smaller hands) prefer a smaller screen because it usually keeps the phone at a comfortable size to be operated singlehandedly

As pannan says for the first part.

Yes, any 4G phone available to buy from a UK network will be fully supported by all 4G UK networks.

If ever in doubt with phones purchased from elsewhere, you can use this online tool to check (may be missing some of the rarer phone brands & models): Will My Phone Work?

Or, ask in the forum.

Beware of buying off gearbest if you parcel goes missing this is a sample of what you will get when trying to get you money back

1."Both parties agree that, following order dispatch, transportation is the sole responsibility of the third-party logistic company. During this stage, full ownership of the product(s) belongs to the buyer; all associated liability and risks during the transportation shall be borne by the buyer". 2."Any orders that do not have shipping insurance will not be the responsibility of Gearbest and the customer takes full liability for their package during the shipping process."

Sounds fair. Buy the shipping insurance and you're covered?
Anyone had theirs shipped yet?

Getting annoyed i've had my credit card bill and paid it off and still haven't had it dispatch yet.
Has anyone received theirs yet? I'm thinking about this phone, but have a couple of questions... the Gearbest website states no microSD support and no NFC... is this correct? All other sources indicate these two features are present, so want to confirm Gearbest haven't got a cut down version.

Also, have people received OTA software updates with this model?
