This is the reason why huawei are knocking it out of the park at the minute, with these kinds of handsets, at these kinds of prices.

Tiptop spot!

They have taken the 7x screen and squished it into a more hand friendly size by 1/2cm, this will sell like water in the Gobi at this price

Emui 8 over Oero 8, stunning camera, fast octa core cpu, decent reception antennae setup! They are onto a real winner if they can maintain the price at £199, which is meant to be £249 in the uk.

Just a shame no NFC or ac wifi again, no idea why they dropped the nfc when the H8 has it.. well at least they kept the 3.5 jack!
I thought this had NFC? I read an article today that said it did.

Wondering if the Honor 9 full isn’t worth an extra £79 though to be honest.

stunning camera

Where do you get this from? The "review" posted above clearly states that it is not stunning, but acceptable for most.

I think he meant it was a nice looking camera bump... Or am I wrong, yeah I'm probably wrong, just ignore this message and move on.
If they bring out an honour 10 that has this form factor but the Kirin 970 and 4gb ram I will bite. Heat for this thought for £199 seems a great phone

I hear you, but it would be slightly confusing if they called it the 10, as they have the view 10 aswell, maybe they'll go the route of that other company huawei with the p10?! Whoops, hang on a minute, I'm getting all kinda confused here. Mate 10, view 10, p10, 10?!?!

4G TD-LTE/4G LTE FDD/3G WCDMA/2G GSM; Wifi 802.11 b/g/n, 2.4GHz; Wifi 802.11 a/n/ac, 5GHz; Support Wi-Fi Hotspot, Bluetooth 4.2, USB 2.0
No NFC though. That's a must for me.

Honor 10 would fit in just below the view 10 pretty much just a more compact version of the view 10

The 9 lite has no dual band ac wifi ((unless they have upped the spec since the jan batch)) on the euro version and +1 on the NFC as this is a deal breaker for a lot of buyers. Other than that, stellar value for the money
According to the spec on the Honor website, it has dual band ac, and NFC.

I currently have a Huawei P10 lite, which has a Kirin 658, and performance is slightly better than the Honor 7 it replaced. I would imagine performance is similar. In Antutu the performance of the Honor 9 is significantly better. It's the normal balancing act of cost vs performance vs screen resolution vs RAM vs storage vs ... (repeat ad infinitum)
...still no Warwickshire cities/towns/villages on address scroll down menu, so won't be able to order this one too :-(
Will wait til they bring out the honour 9 lite for the UK market
Do not understand why Honor skimp on the AC wi-fi, must cost pennies extra.I returned my sons Honor 6X after Christmas as the wi-fi reception was so poor and too many dropouts. His previous phone, original moto G had no issues at all with wi-fi.Glad to see they may at last be implementing AC Wi-Fi.But will believe it when I see it.

I hate them - went back to the website, and they've removed the ac 5GHz parts of the spec.

Damn I missed that!
If this is the reference design for p 11 or honor 10 this will be a solid phone I hope more people do this form factor which is the best for me I think.

The 'View' series of phones were previously sold as the 'V' series in China. There is nothing confusing about having a View 10 (with a 6" screen) and a 10 (with the 5.2" screen they've been averaging lately), it'd fit with their recent history of models...

They've also made a habit of having Pro / Lite / 'X' / 'C' variants too.

I think if you are having loads of dropouts, its not the problem with not having ac but having a good router or repeater in the house. Mine works absolutely flawless with 2 routers in the house.

And yes they could add it but they don't just like any other company like Apple or Samsung who stopped adding temperature, infrared or humidity sensors even though they cost even less than these sensors. Its just how companies want to squeeze every penny out.
makes you wonder what the point of the 7x is....I saw this pop up earlier, and then noticed the p10 lite is down to £14.99pcm at carphonewarehouse or £154.99 sim free, I get really confused, don't need bokeh effects. want a solid dependable phone, impressed by P8lite2017 but screen is cracked and really fancy a new phone.

Yeah, no ac. Single Band. Meaning wireless is going to be poor in any area's.

Not my router,3 other mobiles in house with no wi-fi issues, might have just been unlucky with a dud honor 6x but enough to put me off that model. From posts above looks like there is indeed no AC wi-fi once again.Consistent if nothing else.Should not expect too much I guess as they are a budget brand after all.

Nice find, hate to ask but assume band 20 is available on this phone.
Could anyone recommend a good smartphone for around £100-£130 mark.

I have been told the lg k8 2017 is a good phone.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

I've got the Honor 8. Reviews for that said how amazing the camera is too. It's fair at best and sh!t in low level light. My iPhone 6 was significantly superior.

LG k8 is crap.. Go for a huawei p10 lite
If you buy Huawei/Honor, just be aware that you will get 1 major OS update, even on there flagship phones. Having said that, they are so cheap for the performance I don't find it an issue. My Mrs's Honor 6X camera is easily as good as my One Plus 3's and I'd say even better in low light.

While technically true, it's a bit unfair.

Huawei's official policy is that for the first year of release, they will add functionality quarterly, which would normally include an OS version change. For the second year they will release patches without new functionality, and after that they will release security patches as required. This is better than many Android device suppliers.

However, given the increased awareness of security issues on phones, Google have gradually been moving parts of the OS out of the core - so a lot of the updates for the OS are now included in Google's own components, such as Play Services, and the individual apps. So as long as Google support the Android version you are running, you will continue to get added functionality and patches.
Do I get one, currently have the P9 lite

You are right Alg.

The problem most face however is there is another middleman which is the carrier. This means some type of update ever 6 months if you are lucky. For the £, I'm not saying Huawei are particularly bad with respect to updates, just a warning to others expect 1 major update only. At the end of the day, you get what you pay for.
