Fantastic smartphone with superb dual camera which is the same set up as the Huawei P10 without the Leica branding. But this makes little difference as image quality is great according to many reviews!! Features 4 gig ram and 64 gig storage & a fast Kirin 960 chipset

Call me old fashioned , but knowing little about the technicalities of phones , I like one that will work out of the box (in English ! ) , one that has a warranty , one I can return if necessary . Not one that may or may not arrive in a month or two along with a Customs bill and I don't mind paying extra for that .

Any recommendations please..... Been using a Xiaomi Redmi note 3 prime for over a year and a half and I love, but I have damaged my phone and want a new one. Was looking at the xiaomi mi note 2 but the global version seems expensive for a 2016 phone. I just want a phone with a reasonably decent camera. Thanks
Great phone great price. No idea why this is cold.
Why so cold?

Is/was the camera any good? Thanks
Right I bought a Xiaomi MI-6 before Christmas from Banggood - turned out to have a fault and only recieved SMS's about 40% of the time (seems to be a known issue) - so after a huge hassle returning it, I got my money back and do not want to buy from a Chinese seller ever again, as the returns process is expensive and they make life as difficult for you as possible.

This looks quite close spec. wise but 299 still seems quite steep when the Honor 8 was 199 a few days ago with similar specs.

Any real world views here on this? Battery life is a big plus for me (the Xiaomi MI-6 was very good for that), not bothered about cameras and the screen resolution is fine. As I live rurally the ability to grab and hold onto a weak signal is also a requirement (Xiaomi MI-6 failed dismally here)

I was happy with the phone as a whole. Took some decent pics with camera so can't complain. Just a shame it packed up.

OK thanks
This or the P10 for 50 quid more?
Great deal. Go Amazon and watch the product review of Honor 9. Almost full 5 star

Differences are p10 has Leica branding which is supposed to give better images but the Honor 9 in tests is as good. Also p10 has OIS on camera and a metal body instead of a metal and glass on Honor 9. Beware of P10 though as it has no oleophobic coating on the screen if you remove the screen protector which was a bad move by Huawei. Otherwise they are pretty identical in terms of hardware and specs
hope they honour the deal.

Cheers Seanetta. After a bit more thought I'm guna pay the £50 extra for the P10. Usually overlooked in comparisons are weight and size. Marginal differences but these can be a dealbreaker for me. P10 is 145g against Honor 9's 155g. OK, P10 is only 0.5mm thinner but it IS thinner! Also, I'm coming off being a Samsung S7 user for the last 18months and I'm a bit fed up with the S7 design.. which the Honor 9 is clearly modelled on. Having said this I could miss the dedicated capacitative buttons on the front common to the S7 and Honor 9 that the P10 does not have. BUT.. will I actually miss them? Weirdly like the idea of the preapplied screnprotector. Kind of wish more manufacturers would do this!

Thanks for the info. I went for the honor 9 in the end. Couldnt see that the P10 added much for £50. It looks like the H9 also has soft buttons either side of the home button which the P10 doesnt.

Forgot to add - P10 has faster flash storage. Not sure if this is noticeable.
