Get a Mi Band 4 - battery literally lasts weeks

The battery only lasts about 48 hours before it needs charging again and that's with nearly everything disabled. Also, the app is very intrusive with the permissions it wants from you.Anyway, I hope you fare better than I seem to have done.

My son gets about 4 days out of his
Bought one for my wife for Xmas and she loves it. At least 4-5 days of battery.
I have the 4 and I really, really like it. I only use it for the sleep and steps, but the sleep data alone has really helped my general health. I used to be terrible for getting 4-5 hours sleep, but these days I wake up, scroll to the sleep screen and if it is below 6 hours I go back to sleep, no hesitation. I'd say my sleep has increased by an average of 90-120 minutes a night, which is far healthier. Great investment for me.

Been wanting one of these a while now-didn't fancy getting one from China, don't have a Ryman close so this is the best i've seen 'locally' if you know what i mean.

That's a shame as most people seem to be happy with them for their price. I will see how i get on with mine and if i'm not happy it will get returned for something else.

it says 20 days, but lasts close to that for sure
Why would you choose this over the mi band 4?

From my experience more accurate step meter, easier to use app with more data and options(that might be not true anymore as i haven't used mi band for quite long time).
I'm surprised to read some of the comments regarding poor battery life. Maybe you received a dodgy or fake one?

My experience with this band is, I get 8 days of battery life with absolutely everything turned on (sleep monitoring, 24/7 heart beat etc). If I switch these off, I get another week worth of battery life, which means the band only needs to get charged roughly twice a month.

My only concern is with the permissions that the app asks for. But I'm pretty sure it's the same if you go with the Mi band competitor.

Not sure what's wrong with yours but I use mine with everything on and check spo2 frequently and mine lasts nearly a week.
These were £25 in Jacks last week, unfortunately not many stores to choose from.

Can really recommend the mii band 4, the battery life is amazing.
Yes. I can't be sure that mine isn't a properly functioning unit which is why I included a caveat. However, I do also have a MiBand 4 (I was after a comparison when I bought the Honor). In my opinion the Miband 4 is superior in just about every way, and the permissions the app ask for are nowhere near as intrusive as Huawei are asking for the Honor band. I do a short jog every morning wearing both bands and invariably, the Honor band does not record the steps, It is okay for everything else like running.
Anyway, faulty band or not, I am still disappointed with mine.
Got one for Xmas as an upgrade over a Mi Band 2. It's great. The main reason I chose it over the equivalent new Mi Band was for the swimming feature. Compared to the old Mi band 2 the ability to read messages, adjust music and find phone feature are really useful. I have everything turned on, the battery lasts about a week but I've started just charging it when I'm in the shower.
Voted hot.
Got one two weeks ago. Charged twice. Bought especially for counting laps in swimming pool.
After for sessions at swimming pool, each 40 laps, two sessions were recorded perfectly, one missed 3 laps: 1 backstroke, 1 elementary backstroke, 1 butterfly. At last session it recognised butterfly so it must have been my poor technique earlier.
BUT trying to switch on swimming session in a pool with wet hands is a massive pain, up to the point that last time I considered returning it and getting something with buttons...

Is 20 days not a couple of weeks then?

Lol you must have a defective one mine lasts 7 days plus and fully charges in a hour and a half

If you have a huawei or honor phone you get better integration like music control
Stupid question probably - do these (or something similar) have a basic mode that works without a smartphone? Looking for a basic clock/step counter for a child, and most tech designed for kids is expensive and awful

I've used my my band for months without synchronizing with phone. I can't remember whether it was necessary to connect to phone initially but if so once setup it would show the time, steps per day ( 00:00 to 23:59) etc. HTH

Yours sounds broken. Mine is still on 80% after 3 days.

You seem to need a phone to do the initial setup. Once I did that I deleted the Huawei Health app and Huawei Mobile Services from my phone. None of the data from these fitness trackers are anywhere near accurate, I just bought this as it was a light weigh watch. I was told in work that it looks like a kids watch, but that's from a git who thinks you need to impress people with what you have.

Grab a band 2 pro, got one from amazon warehouse today to replace a lost one for 15 quid, prime also
Xiaomi Band 4 beats these in every way, but battery in particular. As OP said, why mess about, get the best in class and get the Mi 4?
Bluetooth 5.0?
Strange the several reviews I read the impression was the H5 was better than the band 4, aside from battery. The H6 is out in June , think I’ll wait to see what that’s like

This is so true.

30 minute HR reading, HR sleep assistant plus constant connection to my phone for various notifications....

And this is my current battery.

The battery life is better in the Xiaomi but the health data available to track on the Honor Band 5 is far superior. Usable sleep monitoring and spo2 monitoring make it a much better at monitoring health.
I like mine, I got one for Christmas and probably get 4-5 days battery life from it i think it's great for the price

Get a Mi Band 4 - battery literally lasts weeks

Totally right.. At least 45 days for me usually.
I quite like mine too!! I'm not sure the step count is 100% accurate but, i'm impressed with the heart monitor and the o2 reading which is accurate (in line with my Omron BP monitor). My problem is like with everything I own technology wise, I'm not sure I'm using it to it's best advantage but that is down to me totally. I have had no problem with the battery lasting the advertised length of time. Bought Christmas week and been charged once since then. I was initially going to purchase the Mi4 but reviews for the Honor 5 were better in my opinion.
Same as above, got one fo Xmas and here are my thoughts:
1) battery lasts a week, never had an issue
2) sleep monitoring doesnt work well, 7 nights in a row it showed that I had a under 3h nap at night so doesnt show health quality charts, so I gave up on it
3) the oxygen thing is a bit pointless, each time I measured I was shown 98%, doesnt matter if I run or did nothing
4) step meter works fine when gone for a run, showed roughly what I expected 10k, but on causal day when commute to work it would show 10k as well when I sit on the train
5) light and feels good on the hand
6) heart rate, well works but dont find this feature very useful as it shows obvious, when I do nothing its lower, after run is higher
7) changing music and messages reading, dont see much point of these features as its easier on the phone, reading through message is quite hard as the scrollbar is so tiny

All in all, it works well for the smart watch/smart band but as in general its very not needed piece of technology really..
Does this come with a warranty? There's a similar post for the same thing at John Lewis but with a 2 year warranty. Same price but it's £2 click and collect unless you buy something else to take it over £30 in which case it's free to collect
anyone can recommend something simillar but measures blood pressure?
Can these watches work without a smartphone? I don’t have any huawei or xiamomi phone, but I just realistically want one to monitor my heart rate.

I have an iPhone as my daily driver and my main phone and I use a Samsung S8 at home to play games occasionally.

Just wondering if it works on either of the phones as I’m willing to dish out £300+ for an Apple Watch or even £50+ for a Samsung watch. Want something quite cheap and I know most phone brands are quite accurate.

Have taken a look at eBay for some cheaper ones, but I highly doubt their accurate due to the price and they’re mostly generic brands.
