Does the Honor Band 5 provide a better pedometer than the Mi Band 4? I have the Mi Band 4 and find it doesn't count most steps!

Yours must be faulty then. mine does it fine.
What's the difference between this and the Mi band 4?

Possibly. I'm curious, though, could you test yours by walking without moving your arms in a side-by-side motion? So, if you do that, could you tell me if it counts every single step? So, count how many steps you take in the above way and then see how closely the Mi Band 4 matches your count. Also, where did you buy your Mi Band 4?

Hiya, I've just done what you suggested, and not swung my arms as I walked kept them stationary by my side, and it still counted my steps accurately. tried it a few times with my arms stationary in different positions (i.e. holding my arms up against my chest) in each case, the steps are recorded exactly. I guess with all of this, it is still sensitive enough to record some sort of vibration, even if you don't swing your arms in a traditional motion.

I've got a good one it seems? I've read that there are fakes out there.

I bought it from Ali Express xiomi store (delivered from China) for just over £16 - which was a bit of a bargain. It was the 'china' version, however as soon as you link to the app it displays in English. took around 10 days to be delivered though.
Hope this helps. Fire away with any other questions you want me to answer.

Thanks for the info! Much appreciated
I checked the Mi Band 4 on the Mi.com checker site and it's not a global version, however, it does recognise it as a real Xiaomi Bracelet 4. So, I guess the one I have is simply faulty.
Amazing deal. Got one of these for me and my cousins. They’re actually better than my old FitBit! Thanks!
Are these good for returns? I'm wondering whether it'll be better to buy from Argos in case anything goes wrong with it.
Sold out on line. Are they the same price in store (makes sense they would be)?
Just ordered the blue online, thanks OP

Hey, wanted to let you know I got a new one direct from Xiaomi and it's acting the same way. Btw, when I keep my arms still at my sides, it counts fine. But, with mild swinging motions, it doesn't seem to work well for me. Weird... I wish Xiaomi allowed you to alter its sensitivity per person. Clearly I don't swing my arms around much
