Mine just got delivered yesterday. It was delayed due to the Bank Holiday Weekend.

Considering all the additional extras that I got, it's a heck of a good deal.

I also think I was one of the last lot that ordered the phone when they offered the handset with the premium freebies, ie the Honor Earbuds 3 Pro. At the time of my order, Honor had run out of stock of these particular earphones and wanted to commit to my order. So they included a few extra bits.....

I paid £899 (paying an extra £49 for the tablet and using the £100 voucher) and I got the below:

    - Honor Magic5 Pro
    - the Honor Wireless Charger Stand
    - Honor Earbuds 2 Lite
    - Honor Watch GS3
    - Honor Pad X8
    - Phone Case

    I'm quite happy 😁

I've gone through so many phones recently from my old mate 20p. X3 neo, pixel 6a, pixel 7, Sony Xperia 1iv and latest being a s23 ultra (my last galaxy was an s7...) Ok so not the s22, there's been some improvements on the s23.

I got the magic 5p last Friday (with the promotional wireless charger, case and earbuds with it) and sent it back Tuesday. My biggest gripe was the few gremlins in the software, particularly with nova launcher and gestures. It would take 2-3 swipes up before it would recognise recent apps. Tried changing a fair few settings but really started to frustrate me. I wasn't betting a software update would fix it anytime soon either..

Others were around the camera, just looking at the photos on the devices (not pixel peeping) I had the opportunity to take side by side photos between the two (probably about 250shots on each in various scenarios) and there wasn't much in it, but zoom and lower light shots Samsung took it. Also the background effects for filters on the camera much better options on the s23u. Also worth noting the video recording, audio quality and visuals on the s23u was better, particularly stabilisation.

I always said I wouldn't go over a phone 74mm in width but after about a month with the s23u I'm sticking to it for my main device for some time now I've got used to it. The additional features baked with in the regular software updates are also really handy. Don't use spen and awful lot but nice to have and not need, than need and not have. Battery life has been stellar too even with my honor fitness watched synched via Bluetooth 24/7 with the Huawei app.

I appreciate the two devices are at different price points, I got a sealed s23u for £775 on fbay, the magic 5p was £856.. so for me the s23u was cheaper.

    Little rant over. (edited)
