Is this better or worse than Honor 10

They are sort of the same in quality and speed... maybe the camera might be slightly better on the Honor 10

They have the same processor and ram, ie they are the same speed.

However, the Play has a bigger screen (6.3" vs 5.84") whereas the 10 has a better camera and nicer aesthetic (multi-tone glass back rather than plastic, with a smaller notch).

Can't go wrong with either. The 10 is currently £210 from John Lewis and personally I prefer the smaller screen and better camera, but it's a personal preference.
Might have gone for this if it had NFC.

I could be wrong but both the Q&A and reviews mentions this phone has NFC, in fact most retailers do Argos, eBuyer ect..

I will soon be moving from my Honor 8 to the Honor Play.
Yes it does have nfc, although the specs says it doesn't

Mine has NFC, I use it to pay with google pay, confirmed.

Yea, don't worry, it does. Certain regions don't but the UK one here does.
Well cheers chaps. Gotta be more thorough with my googling next time.
For those who are interested, I believe the controller is the 'iPega Wolverine'. Also, not many games support gamepads to be honest. I have an iPega 9087 and struggle to use the software to map the buttons. This controller may be different.

The Play is metal build not plastic, very similar to an iPhone 7/8 in feel. I personally prefer the metal build than glass as seems far more durable.
In using the Honor Play now. Awesome phone, no lag, never locks up or crashes, super fast.

Also the Honor 10 does not have expandable memory like the Play does, just something you might want to consider.

I bought this bundle from this seller, been using the phone for a few days and it's been great so far, battery is phenomenal and general performance is great for the price. The biggest down side is the camera and even that can take some good photos but it's just not as good as my last phone
Got this phone for my 11 year old son for his birthday and he loves it.
Was a bit worried he wouldn't like it as he was always using my Samsung galaxy's (s8 and S10)
As others have said, never locks up, is always being used for browsing and YouTube.
Oh, added bonus is the controller works with Fortnite
Also, I don't worry if he bashes it up for the price but it get's loads of hammer from him and it looks great still

Same here - camera is good providing there's sufficient lighting. Battery has been absolutely spot on. My Huawei P9 was ageing so yes any new phone would do better battery-wise, but I'm just using it as a comparison. It would drop to 40% by 12pm at work (I'd use it to browse online etc on the 1hr bus ride on the morning, and check emails during work). I'd have to charge it up for the bus ride home as it would drop to 20% by 4pm. The Honor Play however doesn't drop below 80% at the end of my day at work. Even on the 1hr bus commute home it only drops to 70-75%. I don't game on my phones but spend a lot of time reading on them. The Honor Play was just to tie me over until I can spend more on a phone but who knows, I might end up having this for longer than what I planned!

Me too, bought this phone as wanted a bigger screen than my previous phone, and thought I'd give the Play a go based on user reviews being so positive. This phone really does handle anything I want from it. I do play games, not really a lot of graphically intensive games, but have tried PUGB mobile on it and the experience it very good.

Agree that the camera might not be up there with the top end flagships, but for the most part, it does the job well enough for the little amount I use it.

Does make you wonder how the likes of this phone can be sold for around £200 when the mainstream Samsung's/iPhones of this world go for around 3 or 4 times the price of this.

I was also thinking this might be a short term phone but it's the best one I've ever had so might have it longer than I planned, seems a bit foolhardy to change for something more expensive just for the sake of it.
Love my Honor Play, main thing it falls down on is the camera, some videos I have taken look terrible. Also the phone is in great condition apart from a crack to the top of the amera glass and a large scratch on it also, had the same issue with my last phone (LG V20) manufacturers using very cheap glass for that bit.

Amazon and argos are both known for having incorrect info sometimes. I actually contacted Amazon about wrong details and they never replied or corrected it.
Is it just me that finds the lack of info " about the amount of ram a phone has" annoying.
More and more companies seam to be doing this.
What with the different models that could have 3, 4 or 6GB. This is info I want to know without looking up the specs on another website.

Memory management on this phone is abysmal and it will shut apps in the background anyway, so it's irrelevant how much RAM it has, it doesn't utilise it effectively because everything gets flushed.

I have this phone. Its alright. At the time I got it was best bang for your buck other than the poco phone. Don't know how it fares up against similar priced competition now.

Oddly it doesn't appear to be getting android Q. But the Honor 8x which I think is generally cheaper, is getting it, so may be worth considering for a more future proof phone

You can change that in settings. Just changed your most used apps to manual manage.
Anyone who has the Play any experiences with cases they bought for this phone? I'm using the one that came with it but as is the norm with clear tpu cases it's fine a bit yellow. Anyone bought something else that are pleased with?
Amazon has a used like new for £180, just the phone and cheaper used ones. Their idea of like new might not be 100% though.

Got this deal 10 days ago on amazon after Mr Switch mentioned Argos deal. - Good phone and have worked out how to sync the phone with Bluetooth controller.

In the controller box is a link for emulator called Happychick. This has many games to download. I put 128 gb microsd in it and have downloaded loads of games, psp, ds games, snes games all sorts and still loads left.

Google play games that work well with controller are Horizon Chase and Asphalt 9.

Battery is very good as is quickness. I had a Samsung 9 but to be honest this is better.

Even if you are not into gaming the screen and size is good for everyday use.

Definitely worth purchasing.
