It's a really good mid-range phone. Could do with being a bit more stock Android and faster software updates from android but as a user very happy to recommend.
can an expert put some light about these fast chargers. I got the Honor 10 which came with a 4.5A fast charger and am I wrong to say that the faster the charge the best chances to ruin the battery?
I know these 4.5A are made for the purpose but I do still not trust and would you say that a simple 1A or 2A (at worse/best) charger would do the job better and safe, charging time would not be an issue for me.

You are quite right. google batteryuniversity website, it explains all about it. I don't remember now exactly where and when I read it, but the only exception seems to be the dash charger technology implemented in the oneplus phones, where the heating caused by the charger is managed differently. So basically, other than that kind of technology, all the other fast chargers shorten the lifespan of the batteries. 1A would be even better to charge if timing is not essential to you. I've just bought 2 new batteries for my 2 years old Galaxy Note 4 and I know that fast charging reduce the battery life.Even by not using the battery,it loses its capacity over time.Best is charging slow and if left unused, keep the battery charged at about 40-50%.Also,it seems to be better to keep batteries charged between 20%-80% according to some experts. Google andreagaleazzi and you'll find on his website an article in regard of batteries, he's Italian so use chrome translating the webpage.
The battery is my main concern, because I'm after a new better pics shooter than my Galaxy Note 4 and my Galaxy S5 (both with replaceable batteries) but struggling to find a phone with a 4000mAh battery at the price tag I want and with OIS...nothing below £400 whereas I'd like to spend not more than £250...
still looking for an Honor 10 Green deal/voucher code......must resist paying full price
I went from a Note 4 to this and I really like it. The photo and video quality is amazing. It took a bit of getting used to coming from Samsung for the last 10 years.

Good to know about the better cam.The thing is that with phones with specs like the Xiaomi Note 5 AI Dual Cam or Mi Note 3 or Nokia 7 Plus, plus the Google hdr+ portings, I find difficult to justify a spending over £300ish even if with a UK warranty.I wouldn't pay with a credit card which would cover with Section 75, only with PayPal and even risking more than £200ish with some Chinese imports seems too much in case something goes wrong...well difficult balance between costs and choices about the warranties for me. I missed the Argos glitch for the Nokia 7 Plus unfortunately So I'll keep digging on HUKD until a next real bargain will come..

I also moved from the Note 4 to this & very happy with it.

Agree with the photo / video being miles better than my old Note 4.

Seems many of us came from a Note 4 to this!

Highly recommend, I wouldn't class this as a mid range phone by any means. Mid range price perhaps but the phone is up there with many flagships from other providers.
Sweet! It's the 6GB RAM not 4GB RAM version too. Nice find OP
Any opinions between this and Huawei Mate 10 Pro? Very simlar, but I assume that Huawei's camera may be slightly better thanks to OIS?
Anyone know if black is available?

Just Blue colour. You could put a case or a skin on it to make it black.

I think that's a better phone and is around the same price/cheaper dependent if you sell the free moleskin smart writing set
I sent mine back. The hardware was great, however, the software and (over) battery optimisation were absolute menaces. Heard similar across Huawei phones so it was definitely EMUI and not the phone itself. A pity really.

Software update for Honor view 10 brings EIS now...

I have been using Huawei Mate 8 for last year and a half and EMUI isn't as bad as you're describing... And I am using the old version.. The new version on the honor is much improved

I'm glad to hear you think the photo and video quality is good! I was worried that it wasn't great.. How does it compare with the new software update that adds EIS? Had it improved the camera? Should hopefully get mine either today or on Monday.. Moving from Huawei Mate 8 to this.. So should see a nice speed bump too! I don't take many pics anyway... But it's nice to have for when I do
There are so many camera options I haven't really played around with it too much. I must say that that the 4k video is so sharp. My gf got a Note 8 and i'm so glad I didn't get one. The camera on that doesn't come close.
I haven't paid attention to an EIS update. I'll have a look .

Far too many basic functions, such as scrollable widgets, don't work as they should. Things that can't just be blamed on Doze etc.

Hmm... I find it hard to understand why you have faced these issues... No issues with that

Have a look on XDA, all manner of Huawei and Honor units. Indeed, long thread about it in the Mate 10 forums.
