These look pretty cool, you can plug in a HDD and stream movies/files to different devices (ideal for kids on long trips) Also if you're away and only have a wired internet connection in a hotel room or something, you can plug this in and then use this to connect more devices wirelessly to the network (if that makes sense) So instead of 1 wired connection, you'll plug it in to this and use it as a router for other devices.

Also charges your phone and has a 10400mAh battery in it for charging your gear, seems nifty for such a little device. Should also work as a bridge too, which is sweet.

I dunno, I like the idea of it, seems pretty cheap for something dinky that does a lot of stuff.

(Don't Need One Ordered One Anyway)

I have the device name and password painted on either side of my car so on long journeys fellow motorists log in and enjoy my selection of music and movies as they drive alongside.

So do you need to pay for internet in the hotel. Not sure how this …So do you need to pay for internet in the hotel. Not sure how this works. Thanks

Most hotels offer some form of free internet these days. If it’s wired then you can connect this device to that socket and using its own wireless capabilities your other devices can then connect to it rather than the single cable. Some hotels limit the number of devices connected to their WiFi. With this device connected to the hotel WiFi you could then potentially connect your devices again to this over the hotel WiFi with an added bit of security thrown in.
If the hotel charges for WiFi then again pay once by connecting this and then the connection to your other devices.

great device i have one use it to extend internet so get good connection in back garden or plug in my 1tb harddrive to stream films to my tablet
reviews 2016 = old kit
I have the original one (tripmate nano), basically it's just the red bit on top without the power bank. it's very effective, particularly as it only needs USB power to run. I had this in the car with a harddrive full of films, the kids had their devices hooked up to it and could each watch whatever they wanted, and I could stream my music through my phone. I didn't need to have three phone fulls of the same stuff.

Having it with a battery pack just makes it that bit more useful.

Good for the caravan - see this review from the Trugians . the-trudgians.com/car…fi/
I had the original one with no battery pack, then I've got the TM-01 with the 6000MaH battery. It's a brilliant bit of kit, coupled it with a Samsung 128GB Ultra Fit USB - what a solution!

Keeps the kids, and wife, quiet for hours watching movies on a long trip. Well worth the money, and this one looks fantastic value.

Heat added
Got the old one on offer about a year ago for literally a tenner. Great bit of kit
Thanks OP. Would have come in use on my last trip through Europe. Taken a bite. Hopefully won't end up in my HUKD spares box

Can it run itself off its own battery pack?
I don’t see the use of it being a battery pack for phone charging. There are much more simple and portable solutions for this but if it can power itself, an external drive and stream all from its own battery then that’s very interesting.

I bought one of these in October for a trip to Spain (3 of us, couple of devices each) after reading that hotels only offer TWO devices connectivity to their free wifi (which I also found annoying for paid wifi in London earlier in the year).

This device worked perfectly. Phones and tables connected to it and it connected to the Hotel Wifi. Battery was useful too for charging up our phones when out and about. Size/weight wise - imagine 4 x 18650 batteries strapped together with extra bit on top. Have not used it wired to a network yet - imagine all would be fine as it seemed to perform fine for our usage.

If you wanted this as a 24x7 device I am pretty sure you could get something more suited to your needs elsewhere - if you want a battery with wifi sharing capabilities on top - buy this device. I was not too bothered about the streaming capabilities so did not put too much effort into using it but will say that it won't read directly from a disk - you need media organised into specific directories.

I paid 42.99 and it was worth it to me
Shame it doesn’t ship to Northern Ireland 😔
brought , thanks OP
There's no way that'll actually be 10400mA

It's larger than my 13,000 mA portable.
Can you use this with WiFi networks that make you login from a Web page?
Thanks for this. Ordered. Will be ideal when away in Caravan or in hotels with wired internet.
Hot, just placed a return on my RavPower FileHub as it arrived and I don't think I'll use it (seems pretty slow to do anything really) so hopefully this one works a lot better, seems to have many good reviews!

Why not ? Seems to be size of 4 cells.. 2600/cell ? seems doable to me.

Mine arrived today Thanks for the heads up
If you're using a Windows device, you can access all the media/stream from a USB flash drive or external hard drive via Windows Explorer. Just connect to it and type 10.10.10.254 (if I recall correctly) in Windows Explorer. You can also map it as a network drive, hence no need to map each time you want to access your files.

You can share files and transfer files to/from multiple devices in this way. No need for the HooToo app.

If you wish to change settings, this can be done in any web browser once connected to the HooToo Titan.
