Reviews are often done within first few months. Never anything wrong …Reviews are often done within first few months. Never anything wrong performance wise when it worked. Just a shame really. They're cheap for a reason. I'd rather pay twice as much and have one that will potentially last 5x as long.

Great price, I bought a candy one very similar, same factory a few months ago for someone and they're happy with it.
The 10 year parts isn't worth much though because of the labour charges.

I hope I have a better experience than you have had! But for £200, I'm not expecting the quality of a £1000 Miele. We'll see how we get on because there are hundreds of decent reviews, fingers crossed!

That's a shame, hopefully you were just unlucky! But for £199, I thought it was worth a punt, especially with so many favourable reviews out there.

Haha, yeah. You just have to be aware that their warranty is worthless ;). You can buy Beko similar price.
Not voted, on the face of it - “it’s a cheap 9kg washing machine” but my god, buy anything other than hoover / hotpoint washers !!!! If your on a budget buy a Beko, if you have £300ish to spend the. buy a LG / Samsung, simplies

My sisters hoover washing machine broke just after the one year warranty and reading online it seams a very common theme - as someone else mentioned, all the good reviews are from when the washer is new.

Not really getting these comments. If someone posts about a BEKO automatic washer, more often than not, comments will be about "good luck, this will probably burst into flames". Here we have a deal about a Hoover washing machine which is a superb price. The brand has a Royal Warrant and your getting, "buy BEKO, Hoover is rubbish"

Not really, Beko don't try and mislead consumers with 10 year parts warranty. They're cheap and in my experience they last longer longer than Hoover. People assume Hoover are a better brand. Admittedly at £199 it looks reasonable however imo you would be better off with a Beko or spend a bit more on a Samsung, LG, Bosch Miele etc.

It's certainly not personal and not trying to bring your deal down. Just giving my opinion. People can make there own minds up.

Not voted either way.

Thats exactly what I said back then. My last washing machine was Indesit and that lasted 4 years. I bought Hoover because they lasted many years in the past and thats what I wanted.
Talk to you 1- 2 years later
Beko are excellent budget machines.
Buy a Bosch and it will out last you.....if you treat it right

SOGA was replaced by the CRA 2015, however, if the washing machine develops a fault outside of the 12 month manufacturers warranty, the burden of proof is on the consumer to prove that there was a inherent fault with machine from the time of purchase.

Some vendors are better than others whereas others will ask for an independent report to prove that there is inherent defect. It can be very expensive and time consuming. ADR is weighted against consumers and the small claims system is painfully slow.

I am slowly coming around to the idea of buying cheap, buy twice.

It's called sods law......Same way that if you brought one it would be cheaper the next day
Buying a washing machine with an inclusive long guarantee for parts and labour is the best bet. My Panasonic had a 5 year guarantee included for £240 and performs brilliantly and 2-3 years in no problems with a lot of use.

There is no perfect brand of washing machine. The worst might be 70% reliable and the best 92% so that's still 30 out of a 100 people for poor reliability washing machines or 8 out of 100 for the most reliable who will have problems. Something like the Beko in the high 80's for reliability may be good for value vs quality but an included long warranty including labour is the best option. Few mechanical products have perfect reliability.

There are people stupid enough to actually believe Miele have fautless reliability but the reality is often very different for many and can be quite a shock. Miele can be particularly bad when they go wrong out of guarantee as the parts are extremely expensive and often makes repair uneconomic. I personally wouldn't buy a Hoover/Candy washing machine unless it had a long inclusive guarantee including labour. They are fairly poor for reliability overall. Given a choice between a £200 washing machine with a £100 5 year warranty and a £300 washing machine with 1 year warranty I'd go for the former. That equates to £60 a year for guaranteed use of a washing machine compared to £300 a year. Don 't think I'm against Miele I'm not, just again I wouldn't even consider one without an inclusive long warranty especially with the extreme repair costs. Buying a £600 MIele with a 5 year inclusive guarantee is £120 a year for a premium brand product with good performance. My issue is people who spend £600 or more with the standard 2 year warranty.

Easier said than done when you've got a family with washing building up!., during a 3 year period we went through 3 brand new washing machines, Two Hotpoint and an Hoover. In the end we bought a second hand Bosch for £80 it had only been used a couple of times. That was in 2010. We have since upgraded to a newer Bosch and donated the old one to my brother and it's still going strong!.

I wonder how many people actually have done this:
a) in general and been successful
but
b) specifically those that spout on about consider law and European rights on this forum.

I agree with you and Grill in that it is far easier said than done. Any that have been successful are probably those with the time and money for whom it is not essential anyway!

I hope this may help. When people complained about noise coming from the machine it is probably (note: probably) down to poor installation. There are four screws (about 6 inches long) at the back of the drum that needs to be removed. These were used to stop the drum from rolling around during transport but I have seen two occasion where they weren't removed and owner complained of noise and instability. Once those screws where removed, it worked flawlessly.

To make matters worse it was the people who delivered and connected it. Even the engineer that was sent down didn't know about the screws. Please have a read of the manual about these screws.

(I am not saying this is your particular issue but it is most likely when it is about loud noise during use)

Correct me if I'm wrong but there is an EU directive that stipulates that all white goods and television should last a reasonably about of time (I believe 5 years was the standard). So technically, one should be able to get a replacement regardless of one year warranty or not.
I have a hoover dynamix and just out of warranty faults started .. i get one of two error codes .. i have to do a normal wash and get e03 and then i have to do a short wash to finish it off and sometimes get e16 .. i called out a guy who fixes them and he said common fault with motherboard and to just run it until it wont work .. and replace with different brand ..
My Beko was bought 7 years ago and has been used every single day (I kid you not). We have a very big family and it was used 2-3 times a day for a year (my mums was having her house completely done over and I had to wash and dry her family of 6’s laundry.
The washing machine is still going strong, Thank God. Beko is brilliant and my washing machine was gifted to me as a house warming present.
I buy everything possible Beko now, having said that Hoover is a reliable company and my mum has got everything Hoover.
