The price seems to have jumped since the release of these switch controllers, the only place I can find with the original pre-order price is the Spanish Amazon. For those who switches to look like a bit more chunky, or have a sure fire way to get rid of the joy con drift.

They've got pretty good reviews, and look comfortable as heck, though they don't act as separate controllers, and functionality beyond handheld play, including any motion or rumble features are not present in this controller. Bit of a niche deal, but hey, better to get them now before a potential price hike.

Here's a video of what the heck this is if you're unsure: youtube.com/wat…Yq4

Edit: Thanks to toca73 for pointing out that Amazon France has them even cheaper right now (around £7 cheaper)

Holy hell, I'm glad I trusted my gut on these and kept my preorder when they were £45.

To add a testimonial, I love them. Don't get me wrong, they could be further improved if they had long handles rather than just the little nubs, and when they are already so large they turn the Switch into some monster thing then why not go all the way?

As it is though they are still a great option if you want a far meatier feel to your Switch, especially if you have bigger hands. Easily worth sacrificing the rumble, NFC and motion in this case in my opinion.

I read/heard some minor complaints about the buttons having some travel and slightly mushy R/L but I've not found them to be a issue at all. Sticks are good too and it's cool having a turbo feature. I've also not noticed them having all that much of an impact on my battery life too which is good.

Fun little comparison I took one lunch too in case a simple picture helps illustrate the size difference.

Got these too and love them. Had to import from Amazon.it as Amazon UK failed to deliver on my preorder and bumped me back to November!
Link It also on sale at Amazon France right now a bit discounted if that helps 45.23 euro delivered. Thanks for bringing this didn’t know they had these

Just as a heads up to others I was interested in these but the big thing for me is they cant be used detached as no battery onboard so not suitable for my use as would like to use them for both tv mode and portable.

If you are looking for a cheaper alternative you could buy Ipega-9163 Tomahawk. The only problem is they either have to be bought from US on Amazon or China/Hong Kong on eBay. There also the iPega PG-9083 which is a Bluetooth version that you can use with switch, tablets and phones.38683257-04Jg2.jpg38683257-Hmo5u.jpg

Thanks Buck
It's so depressing I'm considering buying this to get a half decent dpad for the Switch.
I cracked a little corner off the back of my switch body, it digs into my fingers while I play (first world problems right?!) so I've taken the leap. Also I love Astral Chain but find myself quite clumsy and button mashy but much better on my pro controller so hoping this will bring more "joy" from it in handheld. Also, it's a reason to revisit my disgusting Switch backlog.
These are great apart from the impact they have on portability - I can't find any carry cases that fit them. They're perfect for at home, off TV use but that's a bit of a niche scenario

I can't testify to the quality, but this seems like it could work google.com/amp…ro/

Hori dpad joycon is supposed to be half decent, I was gonna get one til I heard it might not fit into my satisfye grip anymore

Satisfye grip is a far more attractive product if you're just after added comfort rather than dpad etc

I've got the hori joycon and the satisfye grip. Yes its a little tight and needed a little sanding on the grip but its the most comfortable way to play handheld.

Also this hori split pad pro will fit the satisfye case

Hmm might have to look into it then if it can be sanded to fit
These look great and I was interested until I watched people reviewing and breaking them down on YouTube. I think the quality is pretty poor, lightweight for the wrong reasons, but people on here seem to have a slightly different view. I have also seen some reviewers give them good feedback, but those reviewers don't seem to use them in anger, just out of the box.

I just used a Stanley knife to shave it then used some wire wool to smooth it, where the release button sticks out. A bit rough I know but it fits perfectly just a tad tighter than a normal joycon

Lovely work!
Just a quick update on this, I was just told it'll arrive next week, which is great, it was originally looking like December!
