stomach the loss and buy one of Nintendo's official Pro Controllers. apart from the price, they're genuinely fantastic.

I bought one of these when they first came out, not realising they don't have the HD rumble or any motion capabilities. Sure, they're fine as a spare controller, but if you're really serious about using a controller, I would probably put a bit aside and buy the Pro.

Also, because they're wired, you can't use them in tabletop mode. (edited)

I can't compare to the pro controller, but if you're okay with a wired controller that can only be used when it's docked - it's great for the price. I have no complaints, it's comfortable and feels good to use.

You really shouldn't, it's by far and away the best controller for the Switch. See past the price.

What's the advantage of the pro controller over the joy cons? I really like using the standard joy cons, I find them really comfy to hold and use when they're separated. Is is just for people that prefer a traditional controller?

Game are doing a Zelda branded wired pad for £24.99. Im a controller snob but it’s very good for a cheap alternative to the pro one.

from my few weeks with it, I would say that the battery lifespan is the biggest advantage. the individual joycon in the grip are comparable in every way, apart from they don't seem to last as long.

the pro controller is just a fraction bigger too, which is really comfortable if you've got bigger hands, like me.

Is this the Switch equivalent of the weird off-brand controller you used to offer to friends as a kid?
