Firstly, I love mine so I totally recommend them but as far as bulk goes they are massive. When taking them to work I have to carry my Switch in its usual case and then these in a separate controller case which I can just about squeeze them into.

For reference I posted this picture before but hopefully it'll help to post it again to show the difference.

Sort of related but if anyone wasn't aware, the mayflash adapter will let u use any Bluetooth controller on switch. I use it to play with xbone controller. £20 from amazon or game marketplace.

Anyone have this and rate it? Does it charge from the console etc?

Best thing you can do for your switch. Yes draws power from console. Great price.
These have got to be better than the joy cons.
I have these and I wouldn't go back. No rumble but the joysticks, buttons comfort beat the original hands down

Yeah they are great, I use them when in the house but for portability I use the Joycons when out and about.

They don't have a battery so need to be connected to the console to work - they are powered from the switch though.
I brought these and they are great for handheld play. The fact they have a proper D pad makes a lot of difference for certain games.

Yeah I bought them recently, raging I didn't wait! They are great, very comfortable, properly attach (doesn't feel loose), charges with console (if they even need charging - not sure if you can take them off and use as individual controllers, wouldn't be comfortable used this way), proper D-pad, no drift, great feeling triggers, etc. Haven't used the turbo button features but everything else is brilliant.

Are they durable and reliable? Joycons are overpriced and useless for long-term use, with that joystick drift and the click-down function breaking.

I would say so. Mine get used daily and thrown in my laptop bag to and from work.

Like others have said, these are an excellent upgrade from joycons, despite the lack of rumble and gyro. They are far more ergonomic and they have a proper dpad too!

I’m gonna order this at this price I just really wish they had some rumble. Any rumble
We need two extra to play 4 player on Mario Party, will they work for that?

No, because there is no battery (or rumble or motion control).
Took the plunge and ordered. Thanks for posting.
Cracked and ordered myself
I'd been looking around for grips that added something a bit more substantial to the Joycons, but this looks like a better alternative.
Now I look forward to still trying to jam it into my existing case, and then having a big sad face when a quater of it is left jutting out...
Thanks!

The switch lite doesn't have rumble so most games have an alternative, like Mario has a screen shake for finding those hidden stars

This is the case to buy. I researched as lot when I got my first set of these and can confirm it fits the switch with both joycons perfectly. There's a sponge layer I put on top of the screen / buttons as well. Only drawback is no space for gamecards.

Look at the size of that there!
I have a decent enough case, and if it fits with a bit of it jutting out the top (unzipped), then I'm good with that tbh. Because it ideally has to fit into my laptop bag to take into work, along with various other accouterments.

Damn this bloody app. I just did the same. Smh
I’ve ordered these for nights delivery. I’m unsure whether to cancel. I love normal joycons and they look huge
They look good tbh for the price. I bought a pro controller so i don't really need this. Or do I? :/

From what I can see from videos online, these look roughly twice as wide and a good bit thicker than a normal Joycon. So, if that's not what you would like, and your normal Joycons are fine to you, then you may want to consider cancelling them. Best I can see, their main benefit is for something bigger to hold the switch, if you have bigger hands. They don't support rumble, amiibo, undocked play.
You d man, Spaceman!

You’re right. Cancelled. I have hacked amiibos. Two joycon sets and the pro controller. I don’t need anymore lol
I only play my Switch in handheld mode and if you own a Switch you will know all about the hand cramps! for the past year I have been buying different grips and cases to try and find the best Ergonomic Comfortable grip whilst playing

haha, I have a similar set up myself!!
I've ordered these but am still sort of on the fence, as I've been playing some handheld couch play of late and I think they would really be a cool addition. But I would have some issue with long term joycon use.

Get yourself a Satisfye grip mate, I've got one and it's fantastic, very comfortable and means you can use the joycons in comfort!

I have it (bought it when they were £43 unfortunately) and it's worth it. I personally stopped using the joy-cons and use these whenever I'm on the go. The d-pad is great and the buttons feels sturdy. Also has turbo function (personally never used) and paddles which are quite useful.

They do not require charging, they have no battery. They work attached to the console, the only thing to keep in mind is that you can't wake the console by pressing the home button. You just need to press the power button on the console. Also they don't have rumbles.
Thanks OP! Bought for friend's birthday next week.
Brought a Switch yesterday, haven't had chance to use it yet... and I still want this lol.
Are these as chunky as the hori wired controller? I find the hori controller to big and the joy cons too small so looking for something the size of the pro controller to connect to the switch for handheld play.
Bought thanks. Now to buy more Switch games.
No gyro, so does it work with 'Pokemon Lets Go'? That game has some gyro stuff when catching Pokemon, and has no pro controller support... :/
