complete edition has just been announced for December

What a great business model game companies have nowadays to make money. Make the loyal players buy it again at full price but with a bit of extra content.

Back in the day game makers would have given you all the content from the start so you could enjoy the whole game without buying extras.

If anything now, games should be cheaper to start with and rise in value a month later for people sat on the fence. At least it makes the DLC pill easier to swallow for early fans.

I bought this yesterday through CDkeys £35, and would have said red hot then, but complete edition has just been announced for December. Still hot imo but people may want to think about waiting

It's £24.99 with PS+?

Hoping you mean £25 as it is about £22.

By the way, sky8000, you have put the wrong price, plus this deal is listed multiple times already, not to mention it is cheaper elsewhere.

repost

Complete Edition is out in December which comes with the DLC. I can see the base game dropping in price closer to that time!

What your actually saying is you dont wany dlc but you want games to have a rrp of £90+

Also you mention "back in the day" it would be great for you to explain about the finances/business/economics of the games industry back then compared to today, also the cost of development of games.

Considering games are one of the few things that haven't increased in price over maybe 20 years of day they do have a cheaper start point. Plus expansions have always existed, they are just easier to make and distribute now so are more frequent.

We had expnsion packs once games came to disc format.

Bought last night from psn (for £25 BTW, this deal is the price without plus?) Combined with cheap cdkeys and quidco to pay roughly £23. Feels like a bargain

How does it make"Make the loyal players buy it again at full price"? just but the season pass or whatever. game always get cheaper as time pass. complaining about it is stupid, you always have the option to wait till its under £10. or is it somehow better for consumers for developers to act like Nintendo and control the game price and sell it full price years later?

also if people on the fence about the game release and wait months, what are the chance you think they will buy them at higher price?

You've picked the wrong game to rant against mate try an activision title for that , HZD is a model in how to create a new IP without fleecing your customers with microtransactions and loot boxes etc

This game has over 40 hours content easily, or closer to 70 for me as i went for the platinum i enjoyed it that much
The DLC was added due to the success and isn't the usual cut content but they have obviously worked hard over the past few months on it and deserve to be paid for their work.

What I think he means is if game devs could put out a complete product eons ago, what's stopping them now?
Why do they now eke the living bejesus out of a product when they're armed with greater tools and all pretty much using the same game engine?
It's Unreal.
He's probably old, I defo am old.
We remember Pepperidge farm sh*t. When games were cut and sealed (and occasionally buried in New Mexico) and we got the whole kit and caboodle in one cartridge.

As an aside, anyone reckon the complete version will be around 20 quid by Christmas?
Buying the console just for the game all because the little lad loves giant chicken robots is really hard on the wallet.
