I bought the London 2012 set at £49.99 for my son yesterday at the same price, sold out online but modelzone are selling for the same price in store if you can get your hands on one:

The accessory pack looks like a great stocking filler but they're out of stock in the Manchester area

same price at debenhams online at the moment

OOS of the accessory set, balls.

Parents buying their sons this clearly aren't interested in grandchildren

Wow, nice cheap set. Ty.

I think this set is from the less detailed railroad line of hornby stuff so it should be great for kids, less little pieces to break. good price for a starter set although I'm not sure this one is digital

Not sure what buckfast67 means??

This would be a great gift

Is that accessory set actually in stock anywhere?! every single store I check even in other parts of the country are out of stock!

Exactly why is that, to help you out here are some multiple choice answers.
a) It's too cheap to last an extra generation
b) It's unsafe and likely to electrocute or choke their child, so won't live to sire the next generation
c) In your opinion kids playing with train sets will live in their parents attic and never meet a woman and stay a virgin.
d) You were bored and couldn't think of a decent thing to say
e) Trolling is second nature to eating your own filth
f) Multiple options from above
g) Your own reason*

Sure, why not quash any imagination and role play early on...Maybe it would be better if they bought their little ones iPads and such instead and have them gaze passively at yet another screen, unable to empathise with other human beings in later life. oO

I'm pretty sure what you said was a light-hearted reference to trainspotters but as a gift for a child, this really is a good deal.

Love this! I had a Hornby train set when I was 10 spent hours playing with it with my friends after school, making new tracks, creating timetables etc etc great present!

After the birth of our wee boy in June. The first thing all my family said was, "Now you have a use for that loft in the house, when are you buying a train set?"

I have been thinking about buying one for my son now for a couple of years, however he has been to young to appreciate it. Around this time of year it is always around the 50 mark. Good find, heat added and reserved the last one in my local

Just what my Boy wants for Xmas...thanks OP!!
