The most famous locomotive and train in the World features in this high range Hornby train set. The striking LNER apple green liveried Class A1 Flying Scotsman helps to recreate those wonderful days of train travel in the 1930s when the two great rivals, London North Eastern Railway and the London, Midland and Scottish Railway vied for the lucrative passenger traffic between London and Scotland. Included with this set is the Hornby TrakMat which accommodates with ease the large oval of track and two sidings. The larger of the sidings which sits inside the oval can comfortably handle the full train when operations have finished for the day. By using additional Hornby Track and Accessory Packs a complete layout can be constructed on the 6 x 4 TrakMat

Littlewoods item clearly states it is locomotive only:

"Please note: this contains the locomotive only and not the full train set. "

On that basis this set is even better value!

HOT!

Absolutely. I'm getting bad vibes about littlewoods. I'm still waiting for a couple of kids camera cases I ordered a month ago (seemingly were instock but now not due in until December).

Hot by the way. Cheapest I could find was £124.99.

I have the original Flying Scotsman set I got in 1969! Bet this ain't as good now, but worth a buy.

That's a good price for this set, I doubt if the loco or coaches are the latest versions but you get a good selection of bits for the money. hot from me.

hi all... i see the same set in the co,op department stores the other day and it was reduced to just £ 50 including track ect ect...hope this helps some 1

Only helpful if you tell us where this Co-Op store is.

Bought this set a couple of years ago and my little boy (and Dad...) loves it. HOT!

Any idea on the material used? Last time I looked into model trains I found that the majority were all now made from ABS plastic *Sigh*

If this is metal then this is very hot!

00 hornby trains have been made of plastic for a loooong time I'm sure! Only kit stuff is made of white metal and brass etc... or whatever...

I say this is hot!

That's an unusually reasonable price for Hobbycraft, no way is it worth 120 quid mind you, but 60 quid ain't bad.

No, every tiny component is laboriously hand crafted from the original materials and carefully assembled by elves on the Island of Sodor before being packed along with all the accessories and carefully shipped to Amazon so they can sell it to you for just £99.99!

Last time I looked it was 2009.

PS probably made in China - nothing is made in the UK any more!
