On the lookout for my son for his birthday, seemed like a good deal price wise, and good feedback on Amazon. Need to add £5.95 if you want home delivery, so £65.94. Great starter set by all accounts. Elsewhere£69 next best deal. Full marketing blurb below

The specially prepared three vehicle model in this set is resplendent in the distinctive blue livery of the prototype and is justifiably named the "Blue Rapier". Both power and dummy cars have headlights that operate in the direction of travel.

•Track layout: Extended oval with one siding and a buffer stop.

it's alright, but Amazon and others have had better deals on much nicer sets recently..
At this price point, and review (on Amazon) this looks the part. Its £74.99 on Amazon. I do take your point it isnt the newer digital sets, but a lovely looking train and the Extended A track pack this does look great value. There are better on Amazon but much more money it seems
Been as low as £49.99 on Amazon, Not DCC ready so lots being ditched.
I got this set from amazon black friday for £34.99, and sent it back as only analogue also the quality is rubbish don't waste your money much better sets out there for a few pound more.
