For anyone that missed the Lidl deal! Thanks to 'oberlisc' for the heads up! Bought one yesterday to replace the glass on a Galaxy S3. Was a PITA to do but saved me almost £100. Going to try it on a dead PS3 slim next!

Versatile tool for removing paint, bending plastic pipes, repairing electronic gadgets, restoring greyed plastic trim (thanks Rusty) and making other jobs around the house easier.

- Includes 4 different nozzles and a paint scraper
- Rated input power: 2000W with thermal overload protection
- 2 heat settings: 1000W/350°C and 2000W/550°C
- 3 year manufacturer's warranty.

Cracking deal, but as it was a Thursday 13th special buy, I would reckon there won't be many left by the time they open back up tomorrow. That will be 3 days everyone has had the chance to clear the shelves of these.

I got mine from the Burton store on Friday and they were fully stocked.
Checked the Lichfield store earlier today and they also had loads.
To be fair they have several tools of the same brand on offer at the moment and unless you are specifically looking for these, they are easily overlooked.

great price Hot Deal, heat added, thanks

Thanks, will have a look in the morning.

Great find. Could use a new hair dryer.

sorry to go off topic but how hard was it to do the screen as my mates needs doing?

Could you use these like a blowtorch to unseize bolts/nuts or not hot enough?

use a small blow torch with a disposable gas canister, works a treat can be get from local pound shop

to anyone buying this, check to see how long it can be used for on the higher heat setting, the one i own (not workzone)can only be used for 15mins at a time on high, ok for most things but might be problem is you are stripping paint from windows for example

It will take some time though. Example with one slice of bacon: youtube.com/wat…uxo

As mentioned by 'Rusty' in the Lidl post and 'Guan' in this post, here is a video from Youtube to prove that it will turn your greyed plastic back to it's original colour.

Very handy bit of kit. Good for drying parts ready for spray painting after cleaning, heatshrinking electrical joints, warming glued parts for disassembly, flashing off paint too between coats.

Took me almost 2 hours as I was being overly cautious.
Used this guide here:

Go through the full video before you begin.
I have a laser temperature gun which made it a little easier.

Good deal with a 3 year warranty as hot air guns are generally quite unreliable with the heating elements failing. Although I guess if they also claim max 15 mins use they might argue that you ran it too long.

I believe both Parkside for Lidl and Workzone for Aldi are provided by einhell (a german importer of low cost chinese power tools and other products).

It's possible you may find additional information on the einhell site;

www.einhell.co.uk

Unfortunately not all parkside or workzone tools have a direct equivilent einhell model but some parkside and workzone tools are listed on the site including spares.
