This is a total rip off... £18 sale price reduced from £36 for the selection boxes??? What planet are they on?? I remember when they would do the large tasting selection boxes for about £3.50... I would always buy tons of them. The same amount of chocolate is now selling for £36 RRP??

Hotel Chocolat - great when it started, but bored with it now. Stupidly overpriced too.
£4.95 delivery for the bits & pieces I selected - not worth it!
Free delivery over £35 code CHOCFREE35

Must be my account- it said not valid when I was signed in to my account but when I signed out and then opened the site in a different browser it let me use it but as soon as I sign in again it says it’s not valid So annoying, if I realised that earlier I would have set up a new account to put my order through- feel like I wasted £5 now

Chocolate prices seem to have jumped this year. Waitrose is selling the 540g Green & Blacks organic tasting collection for £18 this Christmas compared to £12 last year. Hopefully, these will get cleared out on the weekend with a 75% discount, like last year's.

Still great now in my view. What you pay is what you get - premium chocolate cost more.

It's a code i posted on HUKD recently, glad it's still works and on sale items.
If you put a full value item in with sale order (cheapest £1.60) you can do click and collect for 95p

If you have basket of £35 you can get free delivery with the code posted above. I don't think the postage expensive, it's just that customers got used for free delivery everywhere - it's obviously doesn't make sense for a business to give free delivery to someone who buys something for £5 , they are not Amazon who have millions of parcels every week.

Sale items are not for click and collect, only full priced items, so you can't get around the delivery charge unless you spend £35 and use the free delivery code.

Yes but the only item you can click and collect are full priced items. They will not send you the sale items for C&C.
It tells you next to each item what delivery options are available.

Yes but if you add one full priced item for say £2... you’re getting more chocolate with your sale order and paying 95p click and collect rather than £5 and having to spend £35 on chocolate. There are ways to avoid spending that much

so you are saying that by adding a cheap full price item, you get them all delivered with click and collect?

well if it works, I stand corrected.
Tried now, put 3 items from sale and 1 full price, when i'm checkout it only gives delivery option so maybe they close the loophole
Too expensive still, nice but not the prices they charge, even reduced
Great thanks CHOCFREE35 worked for free postage over £35
Total gutbuster
I just figured out how the click and collect could work for sale items:

You need to put the cheapest full price item in the basket £2 , then add 2 sale items, and at checkout you will have collect from store.
If your basket has more than 3 items, then you will only have delivery option.
Hotel Chocolat may be expensive but proper quality chocolate does cost more. Having said that, quality chocolate can probably be obtained cheaper from supermarkets like alot of things. Unfortunately a lot of the cheap chocolate we see today contains increasing amounts of other things e.g vegetable oil to bring the price down.
No. More. Chocolate. 🤢
Yummy. Thanks for posting. Loads still in stock and advent calendars are particularly good value
Unless it’s changed recently click and collect requires the selected store to have the item in stock or it won’t be available.

It might be that they got lucky with their local store having some sale items in?
Had some yesterday, very disappointing, bland and unloved it’s a bit like Thornton’s, used to be good but now just low quality mass produced tat, could feel the vegetable oil running down my throat
Edited by: "steveturnbull3" 31st Dec 2019
Dont bite yet they always go cheaper
Delivery is a joke! Can't C&C on my basket

Agreed. Gone the same way that Thorntons went. But in a much shorter time.

And just take a look at this list of ingredients. Some odd ones in there for a company claiming high standards of production. Note particularly the use of apricot kernels instead of almonds for the amaretti. Not what you’d expect from a company charging these prices.

All about profit now - quality’s gone out of the window.

I used to love this chocolate but now I think it tastes cheap and oily. I got the tiddly pots for the kids and they weren't very tasty.

There was a good sale on Tesco last month, £5.50 for the smaller taste collection.

I never thought this chocolate tasted good. I'd rather have a bar of Cadburys fruit & nut.
