Do you know if you can you order these even if you are already a member?
not as simple as just buying these for £7.95, you're actually signing up to pay £19.95/month and they will send you a box each month

people should be aware of this before buying these, it appears you can cancel when ever you want though so worth a go as long as you don't forget to cancel
Thanks, I have always fancied giving this a try. They seem to make a big point about it being very easy to cancel and there is a cancel my membership button in clear view on my account so hopefully won't be too much of a pain.
I can confirm that this is a new members only offer. I have just tried it and it fails at the last hurdle.
You can change the regularity of the chocolates being sent, as I only get them delivered once every 3 months as a treat.
Ordered and set myself to 12 weeks X)

I take it they will fit through a standard letterbox?

Also pay on reciept? Is that simply pay on posting or does someone have to be in to sign for them?
Good chocs. But bit pricey for what u get. Post Xmas is a great chance to try hotel chocolat stuff for cheaper
I did a similar deal like this last year, chocs were gorgeous and cancellation was easy, ive actually had this offer sent from them through the post so i assume that even though i have been a member before i can do this one too
I too have received the offer by post and I also was a member but cancelled And yes the chocolates are really delicious

Thanks, saves me trying. Just ordered a 'members only' box though for £9.95 delivered on the chocs website. I too have them delivered every 3 months for a treat. Fab chocs

They do fit through a letterbox and you pay once they have been delivered (they invoice you). You do not need to sign for them, they come in the normal post (I think).

It failed for me at the last hurdle too, although I'm not a member (I don't receive a regular subscription) I have registered at their website. So I rang them using their freephone number 0800 408 4333 and they are sending them to me. There was no mention that I would receive further selections automatically and that I would automatically be joining the tasting club. Which seems a little naughty. This seems to be the case having read the terms at
tastingclub.co.uk/9/t…ons
Rather like those book clubs which relied on people being too lazy or forgetting to cancel.

thanks sammut69
I ordered with £6.06 from Topcashback n all!
Have ordered also, thanks for posting
Be careful if you sign up for the taster box, I used to get it every 2 months. However 18months after I canceled my subscription (which is a battle in itself) I recieved a box of chocolates and a bill. On phoning the complain they told me that it was a special addition box which I signed up for 12 months previously as I know to be rubbish as I canceled and never ordered fromt hem again 18months previously. They also used the same tactic on my parents.
I find this way of trying to obtain customers dishonest
Anything from Hotel chocolate will get a cold from me

Actually I think they mention an annual box in addition to the others. It's that that they didn't cancel.
However voting hot or cold should imo be decided on the value of the special offer.
WOW. Word of warning.
I entered the code to pay, £7.95 then showing, clicked agree and gave my bank details yesterday. I was vigilant enough to check my account today. They've charged me the full £19.95.

Felt compelled to make first-time post to warn others of this extraordinary practice.

Use this company at your risk...
The website was also very disorienting and there was no confirmation email explaining how my subscription works or how much I would pay.
I'm amazed in 2012 companies think they can get away with this sharp practice.
I'm betting that Trading Standards has a very full complaints file about the Chocolate Tasting Club.....

Same here - feckin fuming
To resolve, you can be put on hold for ages on an 0845 number, then speak to an initially hostile lady who implies you are lying as 'they have no record of this' and finally offers to refund out of the next payment (!). But push on and they will resolve. And to be even-handed, there was a gent there I spoke to later who was extremely friendly and helpful. The whole setup is a total mess however. I have an 'estimated delivery' of 10th but when I call up am told it will be 5 to 10 days from then. Given that there business is to 1) take correct money 2) send confirmation and 3) send chocolates when you say you will, I am amazed that they cannot get any single one of these steps right.
received mine on friday, quite a large box of chocolates and the free ones look nice, not opened the actual box as they will be christmas presents

£7.95 gone from my bank account and subscription cancelled today

no problems here and nothing about this has confused me
