A handy all-in-one wash and dry performance makes this machine extra useful in the busier household. It hosts a huge 8kg load capacity for even the most demanding users

Hotpoint offers a 10-year guarantee on all parts

The excellent A-rated Hotpoint WDAL8640P washer dryer includes the most advanced anti stain treatment yet – this cycle removes even the most difficult stains thanks to its intelligent electronic water and temperature control. Other programmes include:

Dedicated whites cycle to ensure garments maintain their whiteness for longer
Anti-allergy programme eliminates harmful allergens for those with more sensitive skin
Quick 45 minute wash and dry cycle for when you are in a hurry
Eco drying option
Platinum Woolmark accredited cycle

The condenser dryer uses sensor drying which stops the cycle once the selected moisture level has been reached, so your fabrics won’t be over-dried or damaged. Sequence indicator lights provide instant feedback and inform on the status of the cycle.

Forget the parts warranty

Each call out is over £100 and they do not carry many parts, so a second visit is needed.

If you have one already, get someone else to repair it, as its far cheaper than "free parts"

Hot for me
Bought it a couple of weeks ago with the 20% big appliances discount but it's even better price now. Mine arriving tomorrow. Going to ask for price match
The '10-year Guarantee' bit in the title is misleading slightly as it's only on parts, not labour which in reality is worth nothing as it is the labour that is going to be the significant cost, not the £2.50 part that Hotpoint will supply.

But this is a great price!

I was going to say that. My recollection is that the labour charge is well over £100, ie obviously designed to cover quite a lot of parts.
Presumably they won't supply the part without the labour?
Wouldn't touch a Hotpoint - very poor reviews even before the current dryer issue which they are struggling to sort.
I had a look at these a month or so back and read a lot of bad reviews. I ended up paying £479 for a Bosch washer/dryer which I'm very happy with. Brilliantly quiet.
With something like this I think it's worth paying more for less hassle down the line.

Still a great price for a washer/dryer.
Hotpoint = fire hazard

I was quoted £130 for the first hour when my fridge broke, found a local comapny who charged me £30

Hotpoint used to be a trusted reliable brand, then they got bought up by Whirlpool/GEC and the quality took a dive of a cliff, Turns out I have one of their highly inflammable dryers which they might get around to fixing in 12 months if I have burnt up by then.

I won't touch their stuff with a bargepole now.
Hotpoint washer dryers are junk. Mine is indesit which is the same company and it's broken down 28 times in the last two years. They keep fixing it but each time I'm without a washing machine for a few days.
you will need to pay for labour, parts only is great but they even tell you for the extended full warranty as the labour charge is ridiculous and you will need it!
I've had this washer/dryer for nearly 5 years now and had no troubles with it.
Unless you're really stuck for space combined washer/dryers are a bad idea, regardless of who makes them. Much more to go wrong and when it does you've lost both your washer and your dryer until it's fixed.

I checked the terms for the labour charge, it's £110 per call out.

Might as well buy another Washer/Dryer! That's 2.5 call outs worth!!!
I may have been very lucky but I bought a basic Bosch washer about 8 years ago. It's used most days and sometimes more than once a day, and therefore has done at least 3000 wash cycles. It has never let me down apart from two seals (which was my fault as I trapped clothes between the door and seal and it got damaged). The seal was an easy DIY job. A few years before we had a Hotpoint washer dryer which used to go through motor brushes every few months and packed up completely within 3 years. As I say, maybe I've been very lucky but I'd buy another Bosch when this one eventually gives up the ghost.
Wouldn't touch Hotpoint, not even at this price

£125 for the call out by hotpoint which is steep IMHO. aeg charge £50! if your local to Peterborough you can buy these type of products from the hotpoint factory shop ( incl whirlpool) may be use for someone.
Its a hotpoint deal, therefore this should get flaming hot!

Good try, but I think it would be a serious mistake to give up the day job.

The Miele is only £220 more expensive & will last about 3 times as long with hardly any expensive repairs.

Tell that to my neighbour 4 visits in recent weeks, 2 y.o. machine.

I was sold on the idea too, not now. Really stumped to know who to go with as the premium names all seem to be trading on old reputations now.
Awful brand, had a nightmare with them previously and now refuse to buy. The company doesn't care about customers or product quality, which is a shame. Also likely to explode!

price match from John Lewis

There was a time when getting it from John Lewis offered some considerable security, it certainly made me a regular customer, but they are as unreliable a retailer as any now unfortunately.

Look at independent reviews of their customer service... or rather the lack of it.

Fix your own? Our Zanussi washer / dryer has had:
Dryer heating element.
Suspension springs.
Full disassembly of internal right hand assemblies to remove build up of crud blocking outflow pipe.
Water heating element.
Door Lock mechanism.

All repairs my me.

There are plenty of forums discussing how to repair your machines and numerous YouTube videos which are often close enough to the exact machine to be useful. Providing you have a little common sense and a basic toolkit it's all fairly straightforward.
