Just found this bargain compact Iron with the power of a steam generator but without the bulk. Seems to be a good bargain as the hotpoint clearance site is more expensive £70 on Amazon (or £29.61 from a new seller). Comes direct from Hotpoint with 2 year guarantee. Bagged one for the missus, only because she does the ironing, I mow the lawn. I am capable before you have a go : ) and thought I'd share with you lovely folk.....

Well the 2 folk on Amazon that have bought one (possibly at full price) have given it praise and with a 2yr guarantee with Hotpoint I was happy to take my chances. It is just an iron after all. I appreciate that's it's each to their own. : )

it's pretty heavy. 2.5kg compared to a normal steam iron it's about 1kg heavier

Thanks.....

Thanks OP, been looking for one of these. I hate ironing, so now I'm looking for a new TV to watch whilst doing it - why do I venture on to this site? It ALWAYS costs me money!

I believe it arrived today. Haven't opened it yet mind but came via UPS as per order confirmation. Will give it a test run ASAP.

I bought this, what a nightmare! They sent a used iron in a resealed box. Promised to send me a returns label (none sent with iron). They have failed to send it to my email and I've now spent about £5 in calls trying to get hold of their returns team to chase it but they wont answer the calls. They have no std landline number just 0344 numbers. Check yours!

Wife just opened the parcel and I'm pleased to confirm that nothing was unusual. On the contrary the shiny new device has encouraged her to do some catching up : ) While it's a little heavier than usual she's said it actually helps flatten the creases. There's plenty of steam on tap (quite a beast) so apparently I've done good : ). Much better than the old one and better than the generator iron that packed in after moderate usage. Certainly impressive considering the low price and 2 yr guarantee. Thank you Hotpoint I'm now in the good books. Hope you get yours sorted Couponkev!!!

Thanks for letting me know.

Still waiting on mine.... Hmm

Has anyone received theirs yet? I have made multiple phone calls and even an email to complain about this. I have been told numerous excuses from out of stock, to out for delivery, UPS have lost it and now out of stock again. Keep being offered a refund but i don't want one, i want the iron.
Also, since i ordered it, its still listed as in stock on their website

If you really want it you need to write to the CEOs email address. Maurizio.Pettorino@indesit.com

Explain the problem and demand the item or one of a higher specification.

I received mine which had been used or demonstated but was otherwise in mint condition. I complained to the CEO after a long time being fobbed off by many of their appauling customer services people and the exec office was very good, agreed to send me a partial refund to cover the cost of my calls and the fact it was resealed.

Having used it a few times I'd say its OK but it is very heavy and you need to continually refil the small water chamber which is a faff requiring the included small narrow spouted jug being inserted into the iron and carefully tipped.

I've now bought a Tefal with a separate water tank which holds 1.4 ltrs of water. The iron part is nice and light and I can iron a lot of shirts before needing to refil. Personally I'd take the refund and buy something else if I were you, you've evidently wasted enough time and energy on this.

So i have still been chasing this and even sent the email as stated above. I have just had a call from customer services and been told that the Iron is no longer being produced. So they have offered me another iron which i have had to accept.
