Only ever used cookers with gas hobs and gas ovens.
Is electric better / worse or just 'different'?
Thanks.
Please be wary with Hotpoint cookers the fan on the main oven switches off when it gets to temp ,so it does not circulate the heat and cooking or baking is difficult especially cakes .
I have one and Hotpoint will not accept that it is a design fault

In my experience, it is easier to control the heat on a gas hob than electric.

Unless it's an induction hob.

Personally I don't like the look of this one for this price.

Ours stays on ,you can hear it,and you can hear it stopping when you open the door.

They are good enough cookers, ours looks like a previous model of that one, must be 10 years old now...easy to repair as well...replaced the top oven thermostat which cost around a tenner and recently the top oven grill element which cost £15....both 10 min diy jobs...the cooker itself is still like new and is used daily.

The more i hear about hotpoint the more i want to steer clear. My friends have a new oven and the dials have melted due to the residual heat. Having non heat resistant items on an oven is a pretty bad design flaw
It shouldn’t be getting warm anywhere near the dials in the first place.

The ovens are fine...you can overheat stuff on the hob very easily if you leave it on too high...baked beans/sauce/gravy type foods for example, you really need to stay with stuff like that and keep stirring them to avoid sticking to the pot even at a low setting.

Gas hobs are way better, but electric oven has the better oven. I wish you could get 2 in 1.

Flipping hate them. We only have electricity in our street so electric cookers are the default. I was looking at this very cooker on a different website a couple of days ago but some of the reviews have put me off.

You'll have to check but I've read that new regs mean that all cookers now have to have the fan turn off when it reaches temperature and will come back on if the temp drops. If you think about it it makes sense, there no pint circulating air that's all the same temperature.
