A Top spec dryer for a mid-range price.

Been looking for a tumble dryer for a few weeks now. Wanted one which could handle a large load, had a sensor (for automatically testing the dampness/dryness of clothes), decent energy rating (B) and had to be condenser (as no vent outlet in my utility).

Anyway, this Hotpoint ticked all those boxes. However, it also is available at the lowest price of any retailer - £279. Several other online only outlets do have it around £300, but at most other high street retailers it is: Argos £360 (from £500); Currys £450; Amazon (3rd party) £354, etc.

Of course, this deal is further enhanced with the full JL 2 year guarantee (all other retailers only offer 1 yr).

You can verify the original price in the catalogue for the Signature range here: johnlewis.scene7.com/is/…pdf (Page 8).

So, I have a tumble dryer on order which ticks all my boxes, at the lowest price, with the best free guarantee out there.

I am traditionally not a huge Hotpoint, Hoover, Candy, Indesit, etc. Fan. However, this seems one of their slightly higher end models, with more tech.

For example, it is one of the more stylish/sexy units, with a full electronic display, full viewing window (so you can be sure whether it has a load or not), very quiet operation, multiple programmes, bi-directional spin, very easy water empty (top left drawer).

Hopefully 'er indoors' will appreciate the lovely Xmas gift! Free delivery next Weds!

I spent a bit more than the £200 level I was looking at originally, but I think I have a unit which is far superior in spec to those at that level.

Hope it helps someone.
PS: I think it's a genuine Black Friday deal (£70 off), so may go back to £349 Tomorrow.

Missed this one. Need a 9kg dryer - what's the next best deal out there?

Perhaps this same unit from appliances.co.uk. £300 and 4% Quidco (£12). Brings it to £288 after cashback.
Only 1 year warranty, but still a cracking price.

We are very pleased with this. Delivery service excellent of course.

Clothes come out perfectly dry and soft, removing the need for ironing in many cases.
Lots of differing programmes means you are not guessing how long you need to set it for or what temp.
Bottle needs emptying after 2 or 3 loads. Very easy as on the top left so, just pull out and pour to empty.
Seems better built and sturdier than the (admittedly lower price) Indesit model it replaced.
9kg load caters for a lot of clothes in a single run.
Reasonable noise levels, not too loud, but glad we have a utility room!

How do you attach the hose to waste of sink?
Manual suggests you can
