Why The Cold Votes ?

Not sure i've got the washer dryer version and it's fab!

It's cheaper here ]http//ma…ase

And free delivery too.

Used to have a poor reputation for reliability.

It's just occurred to me that I have this washing machine in white!! Brilliant.
I always rent though, in case they go wrong.

Hughes Electrical. If you have one near you, check them out....really handy as you don't have to pay repair bills....and if you get one of their previously rented items, you can save a packet.
I also do this with my tv, and usually upgrade every 12 months or so.

for the sake of £5 would one not buy from a well know retialer such as the DSG ?

Why rent wouldnt it be cheaper to just buy!!!!!

Hotpoint = Unreliable

This washing machine is supposed to be super silent...it is on the spin cycle, put the pump is really noisey.

Great washing machine if you can stand the chugging noise when it is pumping water out...i cant and want to get rid ASAP!!!!!!!!!!

We've had ours for just over two years now, and had the hotpoint engineers out 7 times in that space of time. In fact I've got to know the guy who comes by first name it's that often. They use the same basic technology in these units as they was using in the early 90's, with just a few minor updates. Various problems have occurred including duct waste blockage and burnt out elements within the first few months of purchase.

We expected Hotpoint to stand for reliability when we purchased, unfortunately we've now got to the point where we've had to take out the extended warranty for the repair of this, and will be looking to get rid of it when we update our Kitchen next year. Just as an aside, Indesit own Hotpoint.

Well for me it's £8 a month, against £300 all in one go. PLUS, I don't have to pay for extended warranty to cover it breaking down, PLUS I don't have to pay for a new when it does break down if out of warranty.

Having bought high-priced electrical products before and been stuffed when they break down, it just makes more sense to rent...for me at least, but you know, everyone has their own preference.
Having been a rental customer for about 12 years now I get good deals when getting new stuff. And the longer you have something the cheaper it becomes to rent. I tend to change my TV every 12 months or so to make sure I don't pay more in rental costs than I would if I'd bought it new....and the technology keeps changing so often, it's good to keep up to date.
