Houzetek SWA1 Wifi Smart Plug - £9.50 del with code @ Gearbest

Found 12th Feb
Cracking wifi smartplug. Works with native android/ios app, Alexa, even with your finger. Takes just a couple of minutes to setup.

Useful for a multitude of things, such as when you're on holiday, out for the night, or when you're just being a lazy sod and can't be bothered getting out of bed to turn the heating on.

£10.32 but £9.50 with code GBYDG8. Make sure to pick UK plug type G.

Not as good as the recent RoseGal £6 deal, but still cheaper than anywhere else.

Be careful when buying if you have a 5Ghz dual band router as these generally don't work with these smart plugs - they are designed to work with 2.4Ghz routers. I tried to pair to a my Virgin router and it just won't work.

Can't you just make the router 2.4 only if this is the case ?

Just paid £5.99 at Rosegal using code DSRGHNY7. Credit to Chanchi32.
Search hukd for rosegal SWA1.
Also quidco available on rosegal.
I have 4 if these in use, they work exactly the same as the tplink sockets using the Smart life app and alexa skill for smart life.
I have ordered 2 more. Make sure you order the uk version (type G).
Is this compatible with apple routers?

With the Virgin router it didn’t offer 2.4ghz and no matter what I tried, couldn’t get it to work - tech support said that it must be possible to connect to 2.4ghz otherwise it won’t work
Only let me use once per email address, ordered after original post on my yahoo address. My order arrived this morning, I tried ordering again on my yahoo address, it wouldn't let me, accepted code when I used my Gmail address and my wifes yahoo address.

I had some smart plugs that worked fine then all of sudden stopped working. Tried to reconnect them and I got the message "plugs only work with 2.4ghz not 5ghz". My internet hasn't changed so not sure what's going on but I'm presuming there is a way to change to 2.4ghz? Although not sure how it would affect internet compatible devices in the house...

Do they have a manual on off button too if you want to turn it on/off without using a phone etc?
Could you safely plug a double adapter into the plug to run 2 lamps into the one plug could anyone advise me?

Thanks. Wasn't sure if it was just an indicator light

Indicator light as well, but push it for on/off
I paired this with a virgin super hub 3. Just don't do the auto function. Do it manually.

You must've ordered them all on the same day, because the code is expired and has been for days.

Just change temporarily the Wi-fi that your device uses to set it up to 2.4ghz network. I have dual 5 and 2.4ghz router so it bridges anyway. Only the plug uses 2.4ghz once set up and I’ve reverted my set up device to 5ghz.
