Interesting book by the New Scientist team, led by Mick O'Hare.
How can you measure the speed of light with chocolate and a microwave? Why do yo-yos yo-yo? Why does urine smell so peculiar after eating asparagus (includes helpful recipe)? How long does it take to digest different types of food?

I don't know if it's still available but this was on sale at Tescos in a boxset with "Why Don't Penguins' Feet Freeze?" and "Does Anything Eat Wasps?" for £5 recently

Dammit. I'm actually waiting for this to be delivered for a stocking-filler for my niece (and her pet hamster, Pedro). I too expected instant fossilization...

£3 i think, very funny, lots of silly stuff in it , keeps adults and kids amused

good book though like someone say there is a box set including all the series

A plague on your house Sir. I decided a couple of days ago to order this for my granddaughter, but was waiting for something else to add to it. Now it's oos at that price. That'll larn me.

Got this last year, great book.

Seems that they're now out of stock. Which is a shame as I would have bought a dozen or so to give as prizes for good work in my science lessons.:x
