George Lucas presents Howard the Duck - the comedy adventure about a fast-talking, cigar-chomping, beer-loving duck from a parallel universe who somehow winds up in Cleveland! The incredible fantasy has Howard the object of everybody's desire, in love with a rock singer (Lea Thompson), and doing battle with the evil Dark Overlord as he attempts to return to his own planet. One of the most talked-about movies of all time, the wacky, elaborately produced spoof of life, love, comic books and horror movies is a hidden treasure the whole family can enjoy.

Is this film any good? The reviews make it out to be so bad

Watch it with no expectation and you'll love it.
A classic for those of us who remember it first time around 🏻

Watched it for the first time a few years ago, had low expectations, and yet was still really disappointed. One of the lowest ratings I’ve ever given a movie.

Clearly, there are fans of it out there, though!
Still can't believe this was the first Marvel film
Now this brings back memories, I watched it so many times when I was a kid. Thanks OP

Like they have gotten any better.
It’s times like these that I miss those iPlayer deals...

Seeing as it's the very first one ever it's rude to skip it.

Also Jeffrey Jones was perfectly cast, turns out he was a monster in real life too
I literally watched this last night of NowTV. What a ridiculously brilliant film.
I walked out of this in the cinema when it came out. It was the most famous flop of its time. Maybe I should rewatched it!
I liked it quite a bit as a kid and can still enjoy it. I'd think most adults watching it for the first time now would probably not like it.

Terrible film, highly recommended
It’s a wacky movie and as a kid I enjoyed it. Tbh don’t understand why the poor reviews. Imo it is better than some of the highly ranked movies.
Not all it's whacked up to be
Playduck and Quack-Fu
One of my favorite films as a kid loved it.

Not bad at all. Watched this when I was a kid and thought it was great. Watched it again as an adult and it's still a fun movie. I'd definitely say it was worth a watch.
Not as good as the Goonies but definitely up there will some of the wacky movies of the 80s.
Better than most Adam Sandler movies that's for sure.
Ah, the first true "Avenger"
It’s got some Thomas Dolby songs in it, so there’s at least some value there.

Maybe with Rifftrax and/or alcohol and your own mockery.

First saw this when I was about 8 years old. Still love it.
His cameo in the Avengers movies was still too much ._.
Just terrible, heat for deal, death to duck.
Probably already mentioned but currently streaming on NOWTV also...
One of the worst movies ever made 🤢🤮
I can’t critique films that evoke that era when I was growing up in the 80’s while spending all my time running my uncles videos store. Don’t think I ever saw a bad film!

Hmm I would discount it totally and say Iron Man
This not a patch on the comics, but it tried it's best for the times. For me painful watch. But soundtrack-wise some of John Barry's best work.
