what a shame there is only one hotel and not around the country!?

cheers for the heads up.

Good find but when's 12pm?? 12noon or 12midnight? No such thing as 12pm.

I think you will find that 12 midnight is 00:00 hrs.

12pm = noon, by definition.

cheers for heads up.

Has anyone actually managed to get a room for a quid? I can never get on the site.

Yes, I managed to get £1 rooms on two separate occasions. However, the last few sales I have not been so lucky probably due to the increase no. of people aware of the sale.

Good luck to everyone for next Thursday.

So far managed to get a £1.- room twice, out of maybe 5-6 tries. Last time however the server was helplessly overloaded.

are these nation wide ?

Nope, just the one hotel in London, which is why it is so difficult to get a £1 room nowadays unless you have a super fast ISP and type fast

You can only book one night, period. Otherwise they might cancel the other nights or charge you normal rate.

Is 12:01 in the afternoon am or pm? Is 12:00:01 in the afternoon am or pm? Is it logical that the time 12:00 noon is considerd to be pm as 59 of the 60 seconds it represents are all pm (don't forget that it is an assumption, an incorrect one, to assume that 12:00pm means 12:00:00pm)?

Is there a deal on Hotdeals for a clock or a watch? ffs! Some people are THICK!

Can't beat a good argument! Even better is the fact that some people don't have a clue what the difference is!

Your argument is good however your assumption that 12noon represents 12.00.00 - 12.00.59 is the wrong assumption. 12noon by definition is 12.00.00 exactly meaning that there is no such time as 12.00pm. 12.01pm or 12.00.01pm are in the afternoon.

To quote the National Maritime Museum, Greenwich,

"To avoid confusion, the correct designation for twelve o'clock is 12 noon or 12 midnight. Alternatively, the twenty-four-hour-clock system may be used. The abbreviation a.m. stands for ante-meridiem (before the Sun has crossed the line) and p.m. for post-meridiem (after the Sun has crossed the line). At 12 noon the Sun is at its highest point in the sky and directly over the meridian. It is therefore neither "ante-" nor "post-"."

WRONG unless they've changed the T&C's this time around. You are allowed to book 1 room/1 night at the £1 rate and if your lucky enough you can both another room at the £29 promo price. If you do manage to book two rooms at the £1 price then Hoxton reserve the right to cancel the additional room.

lmao, u r good at google :p:p:p:p:p

Awesome! Love the Hoxton, it's sooooo comfy. Managed a £1 room once, and another time settled for the £25 alternative.

Will deffo try again!

p.s. This thread is hilarious - I've snorted laughing, just what I needed on a Monday morning!

it's my first time trying this deal
obviously i could save time by inputting all my personal details in advance , is it possible to do this? so that i'm a "returning customer" on thursday?

i thought about selecting a date now, and inputting my details, then proceeding to the next screen, but i'm worried my card will be charged instantly, and that there is no "next screen"

anything i can do here?

Got a £1 room before, & will be trying again!

Now if only I could remember how I managed it last time..............

does anyone want me to try for them for any dates for the £1 sale. I think i'll b sat at home so mite as well give it a whirl

There are only FIVE Rooms for £1 every night from 1st February - 30th April.
and
FIVE Rooms for £29 every night from 1st February - 30th April.

yup - i wouldnt be booking more than one room at £1, your likely to lose them all

this is far too tense for me, i'm going to make a cup a soup

i cant even see how you get into the £1 sale - there are no links - the link there takes you to the normal expensive rates

You go to the homepage and choose £1 or £29 rooms.

Awesome - got one, was quick and easy compared to previous years!

Hope the rest of you are as lucky

Got one! Tried 3 times previously last few times they had this deal but the website had been far too busy. Was alot more straightforward and the website wasn't stuck loading this time!

managed to login at 12 on the dot - no rooms available at £1.
Tried to re-log in again but no success.

... I just went back to the homepage, not to book another, just to see if the site had crashed like previously experienced.. and now I can't access the booking screen!

Persevere though if you are trying, it's frustrating, but when I first got a £1 room it was after about 5-10mins of refreshing and re-checking till it loaded...

Did you go via the normal booking page, or the £1 booking page linked on the homepage just after 12?

all £1 rooms sold out now.

Was watching the clock countdown, then at 00:00, clicked on £1. Saw the calenders but all were white.
